Been running well in some decent fields recently without quite managing to get ahead. Still looks well in at the weights here and has seen some positivity in the markets. Strong EW chance at least.

Been climbing the ranks in novice company. Stepping into handicap company today. Ground conditions will suit. Stable going well. Should be there at the finish.

Competitive handicap featuring several in-form competitors. The Dan Skelton-trained gelding has been running consistently well since winning at Sandown eleven months ago. Only four pounds higher now, and first-time cheekpieces could make the difference if they have a positive effect.

A very competitive 3m handicap, and Lookaway looks like a potential improver for the step up in trip. He has been running cracking races over shorter distances. He won a point-to-point over this trip as a youngster, and his pedigree suggests he could be well suited to the distance.

CD winner who won here on 24th November last year in a Class 3, keeping on well at the finish over 3m under today's jockey. Has had two runs since: the first on 11th December over 2m 65yds and then over 2m 1f on 26th December. Interesting today, back up to 3m after a refreshing 57-day break. Trainer has two in the race and has the usual jockey on this one. Goes well on good ground with just a bit of juice, so could have his conditions today with the drying ground. Nicely weighted with 10st 8lb.

Rising Dust arrives in cracking nick off the back of a win at Thurles, where he travelled powerfully throughout, travelled very well, and quickened up to score off a mark 11 lb lower. This battle-hardened Leading Light gelding loves good to soft, has placed at 3m before, and thrives on front running. Chance with Bowen onboard here.

The last five times that this horse has tackled around 3 miles, he's been sent off favourite and returned results of 2-1-1-2-1. The win over C&D last time out was a return to form, and that made it two from two over C&D now. He's only 1 lb higher now and made a shuddering mistake there, which the jockey has admitted since was purely down to his bad riding. Clearly, therefore, a repeat of that effort without the drama of such a blunder should see him go very close here.

Leader In The Park has finished 2nd twice this season, albeit beaten a long way here last time. He moves up in distance here, and Harry Cobden is booked to ride him to get three miles.

DEEP CAVE was progressive until his last race, but everyone is allowed a hiccup. He scored a hat-trick prior to that, with two of those in Group 3 races, all over today's distance, running to RPRs in the 140s. He likes a cut in the ground. Jack Tudor is his regular jockey now and was in the plate for his hat-trick.

Henry's Friend is trained by Ben Pauling . This gelding is dual D winner .Won on today's ground . Ben Jones will return in the saddle .This can be a plus. He's in good form ( 26 % win rate in last 14 days ) . He won 4 from 9 runs with this horse . Trainer has a 53 % win rate with chasers at this track. Only 2 lb higher than last win can be in the mix at the end . EW be t.

4th of 5 but only beaten 2 lengths in a Class 2 here last month. Takes a step up in class but remains on the same mark and has the added benefit of Rian Corcoran claiming a 7 pound allowance taking the ride today.

Dan Skelton's Boombawn has top weight and the build to carry this. His jockey helps by taking seven pounds off. Harry Atkins is in the plate and could be hunting him around to be a serious player as long as the ground is not very soft. If the ground is good, he can deliver a solid performance at 40/1.

Gustavian looks like a decent each-way player today. His Sandown run tells me that this mark still gives him a chance if he tidies up the jumping. He raced far too close to a very fast pace, made a few errors, yet was only beaten around two lengths off this same 135 mark in a very strong chase. The raw ability is very much there and he is a proven stayer at three miles with a tongue strap on, so I'm doing an EW outsider bet here.
