4:45 Goodwood Tips

Third in a Doncaster novice on debut. Did not get a clear run that day. Should find plenty of improvement & has been backed early

This could rest between the Wathnan Racing owned pair and the more experienced Final Objective could hold off a late charge from Launch Sequence who was an eyecatcatcher at Doncaster with his late surge in 3rd place but a length off the winner.

Launch Sequence can be opposed here given Mehmas's 1/11 record (A/E 0.26) with favourites at Goodwood and Wathnan's 4/35 record (A/E 0.45) with fancied runners here also. Final Objective is burdened by Wathnan's poor stat too and trainer H Al Jehani brings a terrible 3/41 record (A/E 0.28) with fancied runners in summer to temper enthusiasm further. Next up SAVE MARINER looks much more solid at 5/1; this first crop of Blackbeard progeny have proven themselves useful enough (17% SR, A/E 1.15) and SM followed the trend with a 1.5l 2nd of 8 on debut at Leicester in May. The winner took the Albany NTO and was narrowly touched off in the Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes so I'm more than willing to put a line through SM's no-show at Ascot in the Norfolk. Back up to the more suitable 6f today with O Murphy jocked up and his 43% SR (A/E 1.44) on fancied H Palmer runners, you've got to be fancying their chances.

Made his debut only 11 days ago in a hot Listed affair at Newbury, finishing 7th of 10. Given a very tentative ride by Pat Dobbs, with more expected here on his second start. Liked by Richard Hughes, and with Ryan Moore steering, connections are quietly confident.
