1:50 Goodwood Tips

Ciarrai Abu won at Goodwood and Ascot over one mile and looked like he could benefit from trying the extra two furlongs he faces today. He has gone up six pounds for his last win but by the way he finished off his race he is improving.

Looked a progressive colt for the Gosdens when winning at Southwell & Doncaster. Ran much better than an 8/16 would imply in the Golden Gates h'cap at Royal Ascot

Ran really wide at Royal Ascot and drops in trip here. That should make a huge difference. Looks to have a very big chance here today.

Decade Of Time got two novice wins in May and June and was a decent second on handicap debut in a C2 at 1m 2f off a 92 on good to firm. While I would have liked a better draw, he will have come on for that run. I still expect more from this 3yo now second up in handicaps, even though he's up 2 lb.

Trainer Charlie Johnston firmly believes that this 3-year-old has the potential for another standout performance, bringing strong class 2 handicap winning form to Goodwood, he offers great value at 16/1 for an each-way bet.

Savvy Disko has won 2 of his 4 starts and bids for a hat trick here after a Novice Stakes and a handicap on turf at Lingfield last. He won the handicap easily by 3.5 lengths and, though up 9 lb, he can improve further and looks a good each-way bet with four places on offer.

Lion Of Alba looks capable of making a bold bid in the 1.50 at Goodwood. He caught the eye when finishing a close fourth in the ultra-competitive Royal Ascot Britannia Handicap, showing he has the class to be competitive in big-field handicaps. If he bounces back from his latest run and handles the track, his strong cruising speed and proven ability at this level give him every chance of going very close.

Strength of Spirit got a C3 in Musselburgh back in April at 1m2f but was not so good here in May in a C2 at 7f when just midfield. In June he stepped up to 1m1f in a C2 and only missed out by a neck when third off an 85. I don't think it would take much improvement off an 86 today while stepping back up to 1m2f to end up in the money. EW 4P

Gonna Fly thrives at 1m-1m2f on good to firm ground and was outpaced on his handicap debut, suggesting he needs this stiffer test. With a fair mark and potential for improvement over the extended trip, he's well-positioned to challenge.
