He hadn’t troubled the judge in three novice hurdles but showed a great deal more when making his handicap debut two starts ago at Uttoxeter, when stepping up to this sort of trip. He finished a close 2nd then and improved again when 4th over this C&D, now from a 4 lb higher mark. A further 2 lb rise is unlikely to stop him going close.

Rapid Mission put in his best effort at this track in October last year, staying on well in a tough race over 2m on good to soft. Whilst he has not shown similar form in four starts since, those runs have come at sharp right-handed tracks or over further distances on different ground. Cheekpieces go on for the first time and Deutsch takes over in the saddle. More is expected today, and the double-figure price allows each-way betting.

She's won off 95 before, had wind surgery, cheekpieces go on, handles the cut, and has class and going form in the book here. After a recent pulled-up run, I still see an each-way chance if she gets into a rhythm early.
