4:45 Dundalk Tips

Another tough one to pick, but I'm going for the newcomer to take this one, as the yard won the last two runnings.

Very nicely bred 3-year-old filly making her debut here for Dermot Weld. Although she has plenty to prove, she probably has only one main rival in this race, and the price is too big to ignore.

At the odds, this horse is worth a look from an each-way point of view. That wasn't a terrible run over this course and distance last time when finishing 6th of 14 earlier this month, he looked in need of the run last time so he could be wiser for the experience, may do a bit better today. The same jockey from last time keeps the ride which is a positive.

Sand Art is chanced. US Navy Flag 3yo colt unseen for 240 days since two runs in decent turf maidens last year. Dam won on first outing on AW here at Dundalk. Upped markedly in trip to 1 mile on third maiden start. An interesting outsider.

Merciless is a 3yo filly trained by Josh Halley. She didn't show on debut at Dundalk over CD but was clearly in need of the experience and wasn't helped by the fact she raced wide and hung left. She's well bred ??' out of an unraced dam related to five winners, two of which posted RPRs of 102 (Shagah) and 108 (Pusjkin), a two-time winner on AW. Merciless is also a half-sister to three individual winners and trainer Josh Halley is 2/6 for wins on AW with 3yos, so Merciless could potentially outrun her odds now with some experience under her belt.

Small each-way tip for this horse. This maiden race looks quite an open race. This horse finished 8th on debut earlier this month, she was slightly outpaced so this step up in distance may be more suitable. A more experienced jockey is in the saddle than last time which does look like a positive factor.
