3rd in Group 1 race at this meeting a year ago. Down in grade in a Group 3 here, and though disappointing last in a Group 1 last time, can bounce back in this easier race here.

Beaten 2 and a bit lengths in a Group 1 in October over 6f in the soft. He finished 6th. Make of it what you will. He has been a little underwhelming since, but Karl Burke will not have him contesting this for the exercise. Good chance.

As a guide to this race, its previous running is informative. The favorite, Tribalist, ran no race at all, finishing almost last and finding nothing when Shouldvebeenaring made his move to challenge from just in front of him. Even Batwan finished ahead of Spycatcher last year. For that reason, David O'Meara's new recruit, Toyotomi, looks good as he has just finished ahead of Batwan in a Group 3 and was an impressive winner over five and a half furlongs here at Deauville, where he switched to the middle of the track mid-race and went from last to first in the final stages.
