Rocket Classic Tips

It's crazy to think Cantlay hasn't won for 2 years now, but I feel he's close. He's had 5 top 13 finishes in his last 9 starts. I think it's a tip he plays here where he has missed it for a number of years, and he's looking to fine-tune his game. And I think he will go close here.

Cameron Young has been in very good form of late. Having finished second and sixth the two times he has played this event, he looks a good bet here.

Clanton had 2 runner-up finishes earlier this year while still an amateur. The former world No. 1 amateur is now a pro and is expected to make an impact.

Clark has a good record at this event having finished 17th in 2019 & 8th in 2022. He is a much better golfer now than he was in 2022.

Fitzpatrick needs to get some good results under his belt to stand a chance of making the Ryder Cup team. He has improved in his last few events, and odds of 29.0 are appealing.

Harry has already won once on tour this season and was sixth last week, so he comes into this week in very good form.

Ben An has two top 20s in his last three, including a very solid 6th a few starts ago. His 14th last week came at a track where he has historically struggled badly, so 50s looks a bit of a price if he can just get the putter working.

Tied 27th last time out at the RBC Canadian Open and the American did start with rounds of 63, 69 and 66 over the opening three days. 31st twelve months ago on his Rocket Mortgage Classic debut, Jake Knapp doesn’t look too far away from putting four good days together and I fancy his chances this week in Detroit.

Stephen has been playing in signature events and majors, but he is just under that level. So this event should be ideal for him, as at this grade he has won once, a 2nd, and three 3rds from 18 events at this grade.

Emiliano Grillo is a 2-time winner on the tour and is gaining his best form. T20, T16, T24, T19 in the last 4 tournaments. T19 was in a much tougher field at the US Open. I will take him with a very nice price.

57th last week at the Travelers Championship with four solid rounds and I fancy Cam Davis will have another good run at Detroit Golf Club. The Australian is the defending champion in the Rocket Classic and since 2021 he has won it twice and had two other Top 20 finishes. I am siding with Davis putting another good week together on a course that really suits his eye.

Chris Kirk was 17th or better in 3 of the last 4 Rocket Classic tournaments. A 6-time winner on the PGA Tour, Kirk just played a very good US Open where he was 12th. I can see him winning.

Aldrich Potgieter is coming off 6th place at the Charles Schwab Challenge. His second attempt to win a PGA tournament after 2nd place in Mexico. Not bad for a player with a limited number of starts on the tour. He will break out soon.

Adam Hadwin has very good course history. T4 in 2020 and T2 in 2023 from recent seasons at Rocket Classic. I feel this is a very nice price on a player with that history.

Max McGreevy was very good on the Korn Ferry Tour. He struggles so far in the big leagues but had a decent Cognizant Classic where he showed his skills. Last time he played in Canada and had good rounds. I can see him improving going forward. Big value on him this week.

John Pak is a former amateur star that showed flashes of good form in the last tournaments with back-to-back top 28 finishes. I feel the price on him is ridiculous. He might place at 501.

Harry Hall has had a great season on the PGA. He has already won a PGA event this season and looks a good bet for top Brit.
