James Wade vs Jonny Clayton Tips

The last match between Wade and Clayton was in April this year during the Players Championship, and Clayton won by 6-0. I think he can win again today.

James Wade here for me. He's played some great darts in this tournament so far and appears to be dropping into the 6 or more visits required to win a leg than Clayton is. So 2.25 on Wade looks to be good value here.

Considering that this match will be played as best of 33 legs, it's expected to have a high number of 180s. In my opinion, the most likely outcome will be the over.

Expecting to see Jonny Clayton secure the match, but in a game that he commands with most 180's. However, the count may not be that high by both players, with treble nineteen being the main play between them.

Clayton is much stronger than Wade in achieving 180s, so for me, in this game this is a very logical tip.

While Clayton typically hits more maximums, Wade's improved scoring 0.29 per leg this tournament combined with the long format creates upset potential at excellent odds.

I'll take the +2.5 Handicap on Wade here. I fancy Wade to win, and this gives a little extra insurance.

I wasn't overly impressed with Wade last time out, as good as he's been this year. Clayton is on a different level.
