I don’t really fancy any of promotion favourites to win the play-offs if they miss out on automatic promotion. There is just too much emotional disappointment involved for those that lose out over the long season in League Two. Ruling those five or six teams and a rough guess of who will make it to the top seven, Crewe Alexandra might be the dark horse to make a late run. Their remaining fixtures look reasonable for the rest of this season. It would be ironic to see manager Steve Davis take his charges up after Dario Gradi left after 24 years in charge and 1,404 games played under him.
