The graphics and general gaming experience are high quality, like all of Nolimit City’s catalogue of  games. They excel at telling a story and this slot game is no expectation.

The base game shows the spooky-looking characters on the reels as well as other mystical-looking symbols. The background image shows an outdoor scene with people standing barefoot on the grass surrounded by stones formed into shapes and dainty flowers. It could almost be a picturesque scene if not for the chilling reel imagery and the sinister music mixed in with birdsong.

When you flip into the Séance Bonus round you enter a room with an eerie background image of a circle and symbols carved into a wooden floor with spooky music which wouldn't be out of place in a spine-tingling horror film.

The strong storytelling element is a huge positive of this slot game. When you start playing, the outdoor image of people’s feet on fresh, green grass is almost innocuous. Well, if it weren’t for the creepy-looking followers’ faces on the reels.

Play Experience & First Impressions

Nolimit City are definitely masters of the macabre and the sinister. We’d like to be a fly on the wall during one of their product planning meetings. We wonder which ideas are considered too much as they always sail close to the wind. We’re always excited to hear when they have a new game coming out. The setting of the game and its features, music and imagery piece together seamlessly.

Writing this review we looked up the meaning of the word cult in the Oxford Dictionary and it states that it’s “a system of religious veneration and devotion directed towards a particular figure or object.” During the game, the devotees feature heavily but we didn't see much of the cult leader himself. He popped up briefly during the Seance Round but he’s a pretty mysterious guy (shock!). This adds to the vibe and enigma of the game. 

The max win of 23,237x is a decent amount for the slots market. However, it has extremely high volatility and scores 10 out of 10 which is the highest rating. Therefore, it’s great for players looking for the big wins.

Feature-wise there’s plenty to talk about. The stacked symbols available on reel 6 which are part of the True Believer Wilds are fun and are potentially great for wins. We enjoyed both the Seance and Sacrifice Spins. During these rounds, the All Seeing Eye moves quickly around the screen which adds an exciting element. The Tarot Mulipliters are also fun, giving boosts to winnings. It’s also worth mentioning the Baptism By Fire feature as this is another highlight. Here a stacked symbol can reveal either a high-paying Devotee symbol of the same kind or a Scatter in the base game.
