Overview

I stepped into the Temple of Prosperity, eager to see the riches Caishen, the Chinese God of Wealth, had in store for me. This adventure is one of Play n'GO's latest Asian-themed slot games, found on the slot sites listed above. The game unfolds on a 5x5 grid, where I discovered that wins come from a cluster pays format by matching 6 or more symbols. Highlight for me was the Coin Collection Feature, where Caishen fills my pockets with multipliers. For those intrigued by slot games with a touch of fortune, the Temple of Prosperity might just be your next favorite.

100 Spins

This 100 Spin test was updated by Steve Madgwick on 18/10/2023

100 spins is not a Real Test

We give every slot a 100 spin test to see just what it can do, or not as the case can often be - 100 spins is no reflection of the likelihood of any other 100-spin session, as RTP's are set over many millions and probably billions of spins. So this 100 spin test is just for entertainment and insight purposes

Test Comments

This game just doesn't cut it from a play perspective for me, but let;s get to the test results - Perhaps they had something to do with it, given the poor return and bonus pay across the 100 spin test.

There were 31 wins from the 100 spins, averaging out at 1.91x but this was not helped by hitting the bonus round by landing three scatter as far into the test as 96 spins to get a bit of a save - not to be! - Paying just 4.40x is a really disappointing bonus round.

The session RTP was a lowly 59.5% and it left me overall, not busting to get back for another session on this game

In addition to the Coin Collection Feature already mentioned, there’s also a fun Free Spins round. Once you start playing the round every 5 subsequent Scatter Symbols give you 5 extra Free Spins. It also raises the multiplier to x3 and x5.

Graphics, Music, and Sound Effects

Once you start playing, the story of Caishen and the temple blends in well with the music and sound effects to paint a bright picture when you play. The creatives are high quality and the designer has used radiant colours in both the temple and reel imagery.

You’ll find a relaxing vibe with Asian instrumental music including the Chinese flute and percussion instruments. These also form the game’s sound effects.

Key Features

Now that I've covered the graphics, music and sound effects I’m now going to tell you about the key game features. This way you can see if the Temple of Prosperity is a good match for you or not.

At OLBG we write slot games reviews that tell you about the latest releases and include info about important details such as paylines, themes and bonuses. So stay with me and I’ll end the review by telling you about my first impressions and expert verdict.

Theme – Asia

As soon as you launch the game you’ll be met with the vivid colours of the temple itself. The graphics include hues of ruby red and vibrant jade which are auspicious in Chinese culture. In the background, you’ll notice a cherry blossom tree with fuchsia pink petals and a gurgling waterfall alongside some ethereal mist rolling in from the bottom of the screen. The movement on the screen comes from nature - the tree swaying in the breeze, the leaves twirling across the screen and the gushing waterfall which ties in with the natural-world feel of the game.

You’ll find a kaleidoscope of colours on the reels. Higher-paying symbols in order of value from the highest are the pink dragon, the green dragon and the pink koi fish. The lower-value symbols are the standard A, K,Q, J and 10.

For the music and sound effects, you’ll discover relaxing Asian music including wind instruments and restful pipe sounds. There are plenty of ‘dongs’ included from the Chinese drums to add an injection of drama. The general flow of the game is slow which matches the setting.

Reels

The Temple of Prosperity slot game has the classic setup of 5 reels and 5 rows.

Paylines

You’ll find a cluster pays model where if you match 6 or more of the same symbols anywhere on the grid it will trigger a win.

RTP

I’m including an explanation of RTP or return to player in this review for people who might not be familiar with the term. You’ll see it across all slot sites and it’s a way of forecasting the percentage of stakes which will be returned to players over the long term. Therefore, the higher the number the better! Slot games tend to be somewhere between 94% and 96%. The Temple of Prosperity RTP exceeds the average at 96.20%.

Like many slot creators, Play n’GO have different RTP rates available, the highest is 96.20% but you’ll also find rates of 94.2% and 91.2% at certain sites. It's worth shopping around to see which rates you can find. To save you some time, we’ve found a few percentages at some of the popular UK online casinos and added these to the table below.

RTP is just one consideration when looking for a site to play at. Other factors include games, payment options, customer support and welcome bonuses and deals. When you read our casino reviews you can read about these details and much more.

If (like most players nowadays) you’d prefer to play more than one game you should take a look at this page with the slot sites we recommend. Here you’ll find sites that feature literally hundreds of titles that you can play immediately if you're in the UK.

Stake Range

When launching the Temple of Prosperity game you’ll discover a wide bet range that starts at £0.10 and goes up to £100.

Max Win

You’ll find a respectable 10,000x max win for the Temple of Prosperity game which means you can win up to 10,000 times your stake.

Free Spins

If you land 3 or more Scatter Symbols in the base game, you’ll enter the Free Spins bonus round. Every 5 subsequent Scatter Symbols collected during this round will give you 5 additional Free Spins and raise the multiplier to x3, and eventually, to x5. Prize and Collector symbols can make their appearance during the Free Spins round too which can lead to some substantial wins.

Jackpot

It’s rare to see a jackpot feature as part of a modern slot game but the Temple of Prosperity has 4 included. They are the Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand jackpots. These are worth 25x, 100x, 250x, and 1,000x your stake.

If you’d like to check out other jackpot slot games you should visit our page with the best jackpot slot games available.

Play Experience & First Impressions

A stong selling point of the game is the imagery and colours as they are upbeat and cheery and this hits you as soon as you start playing.

Expert Verdict

By Jenny Mason

My initial thoughts when launching the game were, wow, yet another Asian-themed slot game. There are bucketloads out there so do we really need another one? Well, I’ll answer that in the paragraph below.

The creatives deserve merit as they are fun and eye-catching although they are not particularly original in comparison to other Asian-themed slot games on the market. A strong theme and storyline are important and this one came together nicely but again, it’s not groundbreaking.

Are you a cluster pays fan or not? Personally, I’m team cluster so I enjoyed this element of play. I noticed Play’n GO are calling this a ‘pays anywhere’ game which makes a lot of sense as it does what it says on the tin. The Coin Collection Feature was my favourite part of the experience as it triggered frequently and visually it looks superb with Caishen collecting all the values from the symbols.

The 10,000 x max win is decent so there is definitely a thumbs up there. And even though we see fewer and fewer jackpots nowadays personally I enjoyed these 4 smaller jackpots. When testing the game the Mini jackpot came in for me which at 25x is impressive.

However, I found the Free Spins feature really disappointing, I kept triggering two scatters and then the music builds up and you think the third symbol will drop and then, boom, nothing.

There were a few positives of the game which are outlined above but are any of them enough to make this game stand out and make me want to return? Personally, it’s a no from me. If you’re a fan of Asian-themed games though definitely give this game a spin. And hey,  if you’re a fan of Asian-themed games, lucky you, you are literally spoiled for choice.
