Sweet Kingdom Slot (Pragmatic Play)

The Sweet Kingdom slot is played on a 7x7 grid and uses the Cluster Pays mechanic. Unlike traditional reels and paylines, winning combinations are formed when clusters of 5 or more identical symbols appear anywhere on the grid. The matching symbols need to appear adjacent to one another, either vertically and/or horizontally. The more symbols in the cluster, the bigger the payout with 15 or more awarding the top payout per symbol.

You can play Sweet Kingdom from 20p to £240 a spin. Whilst the game offers a high maximum bet, this will probably be reduced significantly at various online casino sites to £20, £10 or £5 a spin. To change your bet, use the plus and/or minus buttons to adjust accordingly. If you’re outside the UK, there are Turbo/Quick Spin modes and Autoplay (for up to 1,000 auto spins).

In terms of the payout percentage, the Sweet Kingdom RTP rate is 96.53%. Much higher than the 96% for slot games, Pragmatic Play has created 95.53% and 94.53% RTP versions which may be used at your chosen slot site. Open the Paytable to check which version you’re playing.

With a sweets/candy theme, the Sweet Kingdom slot was released by Pragmatic Play on the 1^st of July 2024. Regal treats await in a candy-filled world which is run by a one-eyed candy king.  

Reminiscent of the Sweet Bonanza slot game, the tones are soft and gentle. This candy kingdom has clear blue skies, a rainbow and regal buildings all made out of sweets. To the side of the 7x7 grid, there is a one-eyed creature who looks like a candy-inspired version of Monsters Inc.’ Mike Wazowski. He sports a shiny, gold crown and sceptre.

The soundtrack is gentle yet upbeat and uses soft piano keys to keep things ticking along. On the grid, you’ll see an array of delicious desserts including cakes, doughnuts, chocolates, lollipops and cupcakes. The cupcake symbol is the best-paying awarding 150 times your total bet for 15 or more in a cluster.

Sweet Kingdom also comes with special symbols. There is a treasure chest Money symbol which contains a random value. Look out for the key Collect symbol which collects all Money symbol values when landing on the grid. Then you have the Star Scatter which is key to triggering the free spins. Here, there is an Immortal Money symbol which remains on the grid until the end of the free spin or until collected. Below is a list of all symbol payouts and functions:

Sweet Kingdom Mobile

With all Pragmatic Play slots created using HTML5 technology, Sweet Kingdom is no different and can be enjoyed on desktop, tablet and mobile devices. The 7x7 grid is perfect for playing on smartphones (iOS and Android compatible), especially in Portrait Mode. If you want the full sugary overload, a bigger screen is always preferred personally.

Sweet Kingdom comes with 4 bonus features. With tumbles, there are Money symbols which contain values that are collected with the golden key Collect symbol lands. In the free spins, Money symbols stay on the grid for a certain number of free spins. There are also Immortal Money symbols which remain in play until the end of the feature or until collected.

Tumble

Like with most other Cluster Pays slots, the Tumble feature comes into play when you land a winning cluster of 5 or more matching symbols adjacent to one another (remember this occurs every 3.1 spins on average in the base game).

Winning symbols explode and disappear from view with the remaining symbols falling to the bottom of the grid into the empty positions. New symbols then ‘tumble’ in from above into the newly vacated spaces. Tumbles will continue as long as new winning clusters are formed. Like a chain reaction, the Tumble feature features in many Megaways slot games including Bonanza Megaways and Royale with Cheese Megaways.

Money Symbols

On the grid, look out for treasure chest Money symbols. These contain random bet multiplier values of between 0.5 and 20 times your total bet. When they land, the Money symbols remain on the grid until the end of the sequence of tumbles and/or current base game spin.

When a golden key Collect symbol lands, it collects all the Money symbol values on the grid.

Free Spins

Sweet Kingdom comes with a Free Spins feature. It’s triggered by landing 3 or more Star Scatter symbols anywhere on the grid. 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 scatters will award 10, 12, 15, 20 or 30 free spins respectively.

Differently from the base game, Money symbols land with a random number of lives written on them. They also remain on the grid until the amount of lives reaches 0 or their amounts are collected. Lives go down by 1 after every free spin.

Look out for the Immortal Money symbol which contains a random bet multiplier value between 0.5 and 20 times your total bet. It remains on the grid until the end of the feature or until collected. Finally, landing 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 scatters will give you 10, 12, 15, 20 or 30 extra free spins respectively, with no limits.

Buy Bonus

Non-UK players can buy their way into the Free Spins feature for 100 times your total bet. With 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 Star Scatters landing randomly, the RTP rate drops slightly to 96.48% (for the highest RTP version).

With the sweets theme so popular at the time of writing, the Sweet Kingdom slot game will please fans of Sweet Bonanza. As mentioned in my review of Sweet Bonanza 1000 (the souped-up version offering a 96.53% RTP rate and 25,000 x bet max wins), it follows a long-ling of sicky sweet games including Sugar Rush, Candy Blitz, Candy Jar Clusters, Wildies and Sugar Supreme Powernudge.

Using Cluster Pays, this grid slot comes with tumbles for successive wins and Money symbols which are collected when the golden key Collect symbol lands. The action ramps up in the Free Spins feature where the presence of the Immortal Money symbol can get your taste buds flowing.

In reality, you want to avoid landing a Collect symbol until the end of the feature. This way, you get to land lots of Immortal Money symbols hopefully which are then collected together. With 10,000 times bet max wins, you need a lot of Immortal Money and standard Money symbols to land the bigger payouts.

Whilst not on the same level as Sweet Bonanza in my opinion, the Sweet Kingdom slot offers fans another sweet-filled world where big wins are possible. If you can look beyond the creepy king character and odd jazz/saxophone-inspired soundtrack, it’s a decent alternative to other sweet-themed slots.
