Overview
As someone who frequented clubs in the nineties and noughties, I was thrilled to dive into Nolimit City's DJ-themed slot game, found at the slots sites listed above. I've always had a soft spot for their innovative slot games, so when the chance to review DJ Psycho came up, I jumped at it. Its 4x4 grid and cluster pays mechanics, coupled with features like the Crossed Symbols Feature, captured my interest. With a medium volatility and an RTP of 96.05%, it seemed right up my alley.

Test Comments
Typically with a NoLimity city game it took me a good 30 spins or so to figure out what was going on - This game is somewhat different, as you would expect, but where NLC games usually gallop along, this one felt like it was barely trotting, which could leave players a little disinterested. Moreover, while the game does have a very high win frequency, 40 wins in the 100 spins, there is very little actually happening visually.
I did hit the Gees Spins bonus round after 81 spins, and it provided a 26.05x bonus round - but despite that and the 40 winning spins in the test, the session RTP was a below par 65.95%
DJ Psycho Expert Review
Game Data
The game info tells us that ‘Some refuse to believe that he even exists. Others believe he’s just a hallucinogenic demon.’ This is a Nolimit City game so obviously the DJ has to be a hallucinogenic demon. I wouldn't expect anything less.
In addition to the Crossed Symbols already mentioned, there’s a new Beat Bar which tracks the progress of multipliers on all of the coloured symbols. Each time a coloured symbol connects, a +1 is added to that specific colour so it’s very straightforward to follow.
Stay with us for this in-depth review where you'll get info about every angle of this release. Let's get this party started (sorry, I HAD to use this line somewhere)!

Graphics, Music, and Sound Effects
As soon as you start playing, the beats kick in. Dance music features heavily, which makes sense for a game related to clubbing. During the base game, house tunes are the music of choice but when you enter the bonus round the tunes up their tempo and electronic music blasts out.
Sound effects include even more beats (!), doors banging and the volume fading in and out. Which I presume is people going in and out of a VIP area doing things they probably shouldn't, judging by the drug paraphernalia imagery.
The grid imagery is made up of a turntable with various clubbing-related visuals. The background creative consists of the aforementioned paraphrenia so it definitely sets a scene.
Key Features
Now that the graphics, music, and sound effects are covered, let’s go on to the key game features. This will help you decide if DJ Pyscho is a yay or a nay.
At OLBG we create slot games reviews that include up-to-date information about essentials such as the theme, paylines and reels, bet range, and bonuses. I’ll also tell you about my first impressions and expert verdict so sit tight.
Theme – DJ
DJ Psycho obviously isn't your average run-of-the-mill DJ, after all, he’s rumoured to be a hallucinogenic demon. You see hints of this in some of the imagery (cue the skeleton hand mixing the tunes).
Mr. Superstar DJ himself (aka DJ Psycho) is the dude in the puffa jacket and beanie hat. He's brought some of his friends along for the ride, including, ahem…Jesus who fronts the Geez Spins round. And the demonic skeleton DJ who makes an appearance in Psycho Spinz or maybe this is the monster that DJ Pyscho morphs into when the hallucinogenics kick in.
I mentioned in the graphics section that the grid images were made up of clubbing-related graphics and in order of value (starting from the top) these are a crown, smiley face, cannabis leaf, skull and alien. There are colours for the lower-value images rather than the usual K, Q and J. Again, in order of value (starting from the top) they are - pink, orange, green, purple and blue. These colours link in with the Beat Bar which tracks the progress of multipliers on all coloured symbols.
Reels
DJ Pyscho has a slightly smaller grid than usual for a Nolimit City game with only 4 reels and 4 rows.
Paylines
Nolimt City have included a cluster pays format for the DJ Pyscho game which is not their usual style. Wins are triggered by three or more matching symbols that are touching horizontally and/or vertically.
RTP
Return to Player or RTP as you’ve probably seen it written, is a forecast percentage of stakes returned to players over the long term. It's usually somewhere between 94% and 96%. The DJ Pyscho RTP slightly exceeds the average at 96.05%.
Like all other providers, Nolimit City uses this as a default value. So, you’ll find different RTPs for different operators. We’ve saved you time and listed a few percentages at some of the top UK online casinos in the table below.
It’s worth mentioning that there’s more to consider than RTP when considering where to play. You should also think about factors such as payment options, game library, customer support and welcome bonuses and deals. Our casino reviews analyse these things and much more.

Most players nowadays like to play more than one game. If you fall into this bracket you should take a look at a page we’ve created with the slot sites we recommend. These sites feature hundreds of titles that UK players can launch straight away.
Stake Range
There’s a decent stake range for the DJ Psycho slot that should suit most pockets which starts at £0.20 and goes right up to £100.
Max Win
The maximum win feature of the game has been named the Remixed. Here you can win 25,420x your stake which is good going.
Wild Shape
There are 2 symbols that turn into Wild Symbols. The xBPM Symbol turns into a Wild when landing and will multiply the symbol size by 2 for each symbol on that row only. The xKnob Symbol turns into a Wild and adds a value of minimum +1 to the overall multiplier affecting all wins.
Free Spins
There are two free spin rounds available for DJ Psycho. Firstly, there is Gees Spins which is fronted by none other than Jesus at the decks. Which incidentally makes the game name a great fit! Here you enter the round if a colour reaches x3 multiplier. Initially, you’ll receive 5 free spins. Reaching x3 multiplier for any other coloured symbol will reward you an additional 2 spins.
Next up, we have the Psycho Spinz which is fronted by an altogether different character - a demon DJ with demented red eyes. You enter the round by reaching x5 multiplier for all coloured symbols when you’re playing in the Gees Spins round. If x5 multiplier is achieved for all colours through the base game, 17 spins are granted in Psycho Spins.
Jackpot
Like the majority of modern-day slot games, the DJ Pyscho game doesn't have a jackpot element. If jackpots are your thing you should visit our page with the best jackpot slot games to see what’s available.
Play Experience & First Impressions
When launching the game you instantly know it’s a Nolimit City game as their branding is so recognisable. They’ve certainly mastered the market in niche, dark slot games with fantastic storylines.
Expert Verdict
I must be the target market for Nolimit City slot games as they always make me want to play. I’m always happy to review their slot games as usually they grab my attention from the word go. Their storytelling is phenomenally original and sometimes their themes really push the boundaries. I found this game a bit tamer than others on the market (mind you, only slightly). Perhaps ‘less intense’ is a better way of putting it, this can be a positive or negative depending on your viewpoint. Initially, it reminded me of their slot game The Rave but it’s actually softer than this game.
It definitely ticks the box for something different, especially when you fancy a change from the usual leprechaun or Asian-themed slot games.
Nolimity City has tried a new approach with this game by firstly having a cluster pays format (which is rare for them) and secondly having a medium-volatility rating. Their games usually include a standard number of paylines and have extremely high volatility ratings. This new style has worked well for this game and may appeal to a different kind of player.
The free spins bonus rounds are what it’s all about and they were topnotch. The Crossed Symbols Feature was a favourite. Here, whenever a symbol gets transformed, it can be triggered by the following features - xKnob, Break, Bite, Drop or xBPM. The symbol gets given a second value. During the first transformation, any medium-paying symbol turns into an additional medium-paying symbol. Likewise, the first transformation for any low-paying symbols turns them into an additional low-paying symbol. If these newly formed symbols get transformed again, they become Wild. Here‘s a bit more info about these features. The xKnob symbol turns into a Wild and adds a value of minimum +1 to the overall multiplier affecting all wins. The Break Symbol gives itself and neighbouring symbols an additional selected symbol value. The Bite Symbol gives itself and diagonal neighbouring symbols an additional selected symbol value. The Drop Symbol only activates if there are 2 pieces of this symbol on the reel area. The xBPM Symbol turns into a Wild when landing and will multiply the symbol size by 2 for each symbol on that row only.
There were not many different sound effects apart from sounds related to dance music so it started to sound the same after a while but that’s probably more about me showing my age. I’m certainly more of a stay-in-and-drink-tea person than a clubber nowadays!
All-in-all I enjoyed this game, yet again it has that important balance of compelling features combined with splendid storytelling which makes it a top slot experience. So I say give it a go and have some clubbing fun from the comfort of your own home.
