From the word go, the Darkness slot game is intriguing. Print Gaming has ventured into the occult for this title, setting the scene in a room within a grand manor once adorned with exquisite paintings, antiques, and family heirlooms. BUT someone has meddled with forces beyond their control, accidentally opening a portal to the underworld.

Gameplay is as dark as night, but as the symbols descend from above, you get a tiny glimpse of the room's eerie contents, including skeletons, blood-covered swords and tree branches creeping out from the floorboards. The classical music and chilling sound effects set the grisly scene perfectly.

The pentagram imagery stands out brilliantly against the dark backdrop, and the lanterns cleverly illuminate the SuperSpinners. This is a classic feature of Print Studio’s games, which I’ll explore more in the Bonus Features section.

During the Dark Ritual Free Spins bonus feature, all hell breaks loose. You can see an array of disturbing symbol characters on the grid. There is so much animation from them, and the graphics have a lot of movement, which look like they are really chanting some ancient spell. Agatha, the terrifying-looking ghostly woman with a creature crawling out of her mouth, is especially disturbing.

Giant symbols can land randomly on any spin, and the sizes range between 3×2 and 4×5, positions covered by a giant symbol count as instances of the selected indicated.

Dark Ritual Bonus

Landing 3 or more scatters triggers this bonus round. Landing 3, 4 or 5 scatters will give you 10, 12 or 14 free spins, respectively. When the feature begins, a Pentagram will be drawn up across the reels, indicating especially at the star's corner positions. The Wilds landing here will become sticky, and their evil chant will begin. As the Pentagram fills out with more Wilds, the tension rises.
