100 Spins Test
This 100 Spin test was updated by Steve Madgwick on 18/1/2023
In this video, I play and review a brand new slot game from Hacksaw, Beam Boys. We do 100 spins with turbo mode on and count the number of wins, check the RTP, volatility, and hit rate. We also hit the free spins bonus round and analyse the session's profitability. Don't forget to scroll down for the full review and game data and slot sites to play at. Enjoy!
I mentioned the Hot Potato Slot in the Beam Boys 100 spin video review above as being from Hacksaw and of course it wasn't that is in fact a Thunderkick game.

Average Win Value over 100 Spins | 7.05x |

Test Comments
I completed this test at the very first sight of the game and in turbo mode which might have been a mistake as everything happened so quickly - Still, a 176.3% RTP for the session was none too shabby, with the free spins landing on spin 47, and returning a profit ensuring 131.1x.
That was one of 25 winning spins in total providing a medium hit rate and an average winning spin value of 7.05x. Removing the bonus round from those figures e had 24 spins averaging a more realistic 1.88x, with a base game high of 7.2x on one occasion.

Cats and lasers don't seem like an obvious choice for a slot game, but hey, some of the best games have risen out of the most random themes. And visually these laser fighting kitties look fab on the screen.
As well as the volatility switch mentioned in the summary, there is also an exciting bonus game. Here, you can activate up to an impressive 40 free spins and even receive extra free spins during the round.

Graphics, Music, and Sound Effects
Like all Hacksaw Gaming slots, this is one stylish-looking slot; their designers do a top job. The modern imagery shows the cat shooting out lasers from its eyes and has been created in comic-book style.
The hip-hop-style music sounds cool against the backdrop of the imagery and includes plenty of scratching. Sound effects include the loud zapping of electricity blasting out of the laser eyes.
Key Features
I've now covered the summary, intro, graphics, music, and sound effects. Next on the list, I’m going to explore the key game features of Beam Boys.
At OLBG we create slot games reviews that include up-to-date info about essential features such as the theme, paylines and reels, bet range, and bonuses. I’ll wrap up the review by talking about my play experience, first impressions and expert verdict.
Theme – Cats
The star of the show is a black and white robotic cat who looks like he's teleported in from the future. The colour scheme is simple - black and white with pops of colour from shades of orange and blue. Blue represents the low-volatility option, and orange is the higher-volatility option. The logo and win messages are made up of a font that looks like graffiti tags, which gives the experience a futuristic skater feel.
The grid is surrounded by barbed wire, and the character symbols are shown in black and white, and it looks like the laser beams have electrocuted them. In order of highest value, first, they are a snake, rabbit, fish, a dead bird and a rat. The standard symbols of A, K, Q, J and 10 then follow.
Reels
The Beam Boys game is made up of 6 reels and 4 rows to play with.
Paylines
There are 6,561 non-adjustable paylines where you can trigger wins.
RTP
Return to Player is most commonly referred to as RTP which you may have seen on slot sites. This is a way of measuring theoretically what percentage of players' stakes will be returned to them over the long term so it's important to look out for this. The higher the number the better for players. RTP should be around 96% or more ideally. Beam Boys is over the average at 96.35%.
Hacksaw use this RTP figure as a default value so if you shop around you’ll discover different rates. To save you some time, we’ve identified a few at some of the top UK online casinos and added them to our table below.
By the way, RTP is just one consideration when deciding which site to play at. You should also think about payment options, game library, customer support and welcome bonuses and deals. Our casino reviews look at this info and much, much more.

Stake Range
There’s a wide bet range for the Beam Boys slot game which starts at £0.10 and goes right up to £100.
Max Win
The max win for the Beam Boys game is 12,500 x your stake.
Wild Shape
The Wild element of the Beam Boys game is called Wilds Rows. Here, the Wild Laser Cat Symbol can land on reels 2-6. When it lands the symbol will shoot a laser beam to the left across the positions on the same row. All positions covered by a Wild Laster Cat symbol or the laser beam will become Wilds that substitute for all symbols on the paytable so you can trigger a row of wilds as show in the image below.
Free Spins
Landing Scatter symbols will gain you entry to the bonus game, where you can activate up to 40 free spins. 3 Scatter symbols award 5 free spins, 4 Scatters award 10 free spins, 5 Scatters award 20 free spins and 6 Scatters award an impressive 40 free spins. Once you enter the bonus round, you can receive further free spins by landing more Scatters. Here, 2 Scatters award 2 extra free spins and 3 Scatters award 4 extra free spins.
Jackpot
Like most slot games nowadays, the Beam Boys slot game doesn't have a jackpot element. If jackpots are your thing you should visit our page with the best jackpot slot games.
Play Experience & First Impressions
As soon as I launched the game, it was instantly recognised as a Hacksaw title; it has a certain style which stands out from other slot studios. Visually, they look amazing, and their storylines are boxed up with strong features, visuals and music. The volatility switch was an impressive feature which was innovative and well thought out with the blue and orange sections. It was simple but effective but was great to choose between having the choice of bigger wins less frequently or smaller wins more often. Below you can see an image of the switch to 'extreme volatility.'
The Wild Rows looked superb, visually seeing the laser beams fire into the rows to create wild rows, which can lead to some decent wins. It was impressive seeing a Bonus Round with the potential to trigger 40 free spins, too.
Expert Verdict
I didn't know what to expect from a title called Beam Boys - a troop of male strippers perhaps? So it was a surprise to launch the game and be met with a robotic cat. But it worked superbly, from the logo to the imagery and music - everything ties together seamlessly to give you an immersive slot experience. Visually it reminded me of their games Chaos Crew 2 and RIP City which were both fantastic titles. I'm a fan of Hacksaw Gaming as it produces terrific-looking games - which stand out against the competition.
With an RTP rate of 96.35%, this is another factor to shout about and is an RTP than their last game, 2 Wild 2 Die, which is another goodie.
It's a matter of taste, but I thoroughly enjoyed the graffiti and hip-hop style, and importantly, the features were something to write home about and would definitely keep my interest. Top marks to Beam Boys; I thoroughly enjoyed it.
In April 2025, Hacksaw Gaming released the Wishbringer slot: it's a genie/Arabian-themed game using spreading wilds for 10,000 x bet max wins.
