France are the slight favourites against Argentina ahead of Sunday's World Cup Final

As the World Cup Final approaches, bookies make France the favourites to win the tournament against Argentina in Qatar on Sunday.

France won the World Cup back in 2018 and will be looking to do the same again on Sunday but they face a tough battle with Argentina to win it.

Paddy Power make France the slight favourites at 5/6 to win the World Cup with a 54% chance of doing so according to the betting odds.

On the other hand though, Argentina are 10/11 to win the tournament with a 52% chance of doing so so the odds are tight.

France are the slight favourites against Argentina with the World Cup Final set to take place on Sunday afternoon! Kylian Mbappe will be wanting to beat PSG teammate Lionel Messi for the famous trophy this weekend.

Argentina will be hoping Lionel Messi helps them to victory on Sunday

All eyes will be on Lionel Messi this weekend as he looks to fire his country to their first World Cup win since 1986.

The Diego Maradona comparisons will always be there and a World Cup win may cause people to finally put Messi as the greatest player there has been.

Messi's performances at this World Cup have been nothing short of exceptional and one more of those may well win them the World Cup.

Messi is the favourite to win the Golden Boot just ahead of Kylian Mbappe

Lionel Messi remains favourite for the Golden Boot as we go into the final game of the World Cup this weekend.

It looks like a two horse race between him and PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe to win the award with both forwards currently sat on 5 goals.

Messi's assists put him above Mbappe in the Golden Boot race but it may well come down to Sunday's final to find a winner.

World Cup Golden Boot Winner Odds Probability
Lionel Messi 4/5 55.6%
Kylian Mbappe
11/8 42.1%
Julian Alvarez 16/1 5.9%
Olivier Giroud 16/1 5.9%
It's Messi v Mbappe for the Golden Boot award with the Argentinian just favourite for the award with an assist putting him ahead of Mbappe currently.
