Wesley Fofana is now 8/11 to sign for Chelsea with £85m bid expected

Wesley Fofana is now just 8/11 to sign for Chelsea this Summer after expected world record bid of £85m being prepared.

Bookmakers give Chelsea a 57% chance of signing the defender in this transfer window with the signing rumoured for weeks now.

Fofana has been linked with PSG also this window, but that looks unlikely with the French giants now 20/1 to sign him so staying in the Premier League will happen.

Wesley Fofana Next Club Odds Probability
Chelsea 8/11 57.9%
Stay at Leicester 11/10 47.6%
PSG 20/1 4.8%
Man Utd 25/1 3.8%

Manchester United also feature in the betting odds as question marks remain around their defensive options.

It's unlikely that they spend such a big amount of money on another centre half this window though.

Wesley Fofana is now only 8/11 to sign for Chelsea now with a third bid expected for the player of around £85m.

Fofana is 11/10 to stay at Leicester with Brendan Rodgers not wanting to sell

Leicester may well keep Wesley Fofana past this transfer window if the right fee isn't met for the player.

After Chelsea's latest bid for Fofana, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers said, "To reiterate it, we're not looking to sell Wesley. He's not a player we're looking to move on".

It looks increasingly likely though that if a world record bid for a defender comes in that Leicester will sell the player.

Chelsea face Tottenham in the Premier League this weekend

The second weekend of the Premier League season sees Chelsea facing Tottenham in arguably the game of the matchday.

If Chelsea are to sign Wesley Fofana, it won't be in time for him to face Tottenham this weekend.

Tottenham won 4-1 in their opening game of the season at home to Southampton, while Chelsea were 1-0 winners away against Everton.

Chelsea face Tottenham in the Premier League this weekend and it will arguably be the game of the matchday with both sides wanting an early win in the title race.
