Viktor Gyökeres is now 3/1 to sign for Arsenal in the summer transfer window

Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres is now just 3/1 to sign for Arsenal this summer with reports linking the Gunners to a €100m move for the forward.

Gyökeres has been on fire this season since signing for Sporting last summer for a club record transfer fee of €20m with 36 goals scored in 43 games so far.

It's no surprise therefore that the Swedish striker has plenty of suitors with both Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly battling against each other to sign the player.

Bookies currently make it 3/1 that Gyökeres joins Arsenal with the Gunners desperate for a goalscorer next season after struggling in games this season.

Arsenal's 2-0 loss at home to Aston Villa at the weekend highlighted the fact that they need a striker with Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard struggling in the match.

What the expert says...

Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres now has a 25% chance of signing for Arsenal according to the latest betting odds, with bookmakers putting Mikel Arteta's men as the frontrunners in the betting market to sign the player. Arteta will be desperate for a goalscorer this summer with the Gunners really struggling in front of goal at times this season.

Chelsea have also been linked with signing Gyökeres in the upcoming summer window

Mauricio Pochettino has also reportedly shown an interest in signing Gyökeres in the summer and Chelsea are second favourites at 5/1 to sign the player.

Sporting's manager Ruben Amorim has already said that the club have no intention of selling their star striker this summer for anything less than his €100m release clause.

With the money being spent these days though from English sides, it's likely that they would be willing to spend that much money to sign a player who looks as prolific up front as Gyökeres.

Arsenal have drifted out in the market to win the Premier League after 0-2 home defeat to Aston Villa at the weekend

Betting also remains available on the Premier League title race with Arsenal now drifting out to 4/1 to win the league after their loss at the weekend.

Arsenal were hoping to capitalise on Liverpool's home defeat to Crystal Palace earlier in the day on Super Sunday but then lost at home themselves to Aston Villa.

Manchester City were the big winners of the weekend after their 5-1 victory over Luton Town on Saturday and they now sit at 2/5 in the betting market to win the league.
