Donald Trump now shortens into 4/11 following assassination attempt on Saturday
Former US President Donald Trump is now 4/11 to win the US Presidential Election this year after the failed assassination attempt on Saturday saw him shot in the ear at a rally in Pennsylvania.
UK Betting Sites have shortened Trump's odds into just 4/11 to win the election in November after that assassination attempt saw a surge in bets on him heading back into power.
Those latest odds have seen the implied probability of him becoming President again jump from 63.6% just last week to 73.3% now with the odds getting shorter and shorter.
Bet365's betting market has the top two candidates as the main frontrunners in the odds with Kamala Harris drifting as it looks unlikely that she will replace Biden as the Democratic Nominee.

What the expert says..
Rival Joe Biden spoke against "sick" assassination attempt in emergency press conference
Joe Biden addressed the nation following the assassination attempt on Trump saying that the violence was "sick" and called for unity amongst Americans.
The gunman killed one member of the crowd at the rally Pennsylvania as well as injuring two others, with Donald Trump also injured in the ear.
In a statement immediately addressed within an hour of the shooting happening, President Biden said, "We must unite as one nation to condemn it. It's sick, it's sick".
Since the attack happened his odds have also shortened slightly with his chances of winning the election going from 14.3% to 18.2%.

Democratic Party is 4/5 to win Popular Vote
Despite Trump being favourite to win the Presidential Election it's the Democratic Party that are 4/5 favourites to win the Popular Vote.
The difference in odds is tight though with the Republican Party sitting at 10/11 to win the Popular Vote with just a 3.2% difference in chance according to those odds.
The 2016 Election was the last time we saw the winner of the Popular Vote not win the election with Hillary Clinton losing to Donald Trump despite a win in the Popular Vote.
