UK & Ireland final bid for Euro 2028 submitted and it's now 1/50 to win
The final bid for UK & Ireland's hosting of Euro 2028 was submitted earlier this week and with it came the odds for them to host shortening right down to just 1/50 with bookies.
Matches are set to take place across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland in what would be a massive event for the UK and Ireland as a whole.
The biggest news from the bid came that Manchester United's Old Trafford would not be submitted as one of the 10 stadiums to host games at the Euros with Manchester City's Etihad Stadium picked instead.
Smarkets now make the UK & Ireland bid heavy favourites with a 98% chance of winning according to the latest betting odds.

Turkey are rivals for Euro 2028 hosting with decision expected in September this year
UEFA announced on Wednesday that Turkey are the only other bidders for Euro 2028 with the country also a candidate to host Euro 2032.
Italy are the only rivals to Turkey in the 2032 bid and UEFA stated that "In the forthcoming months, the UEFA administration will evaluate each of the bids," ahead of the announcement at the end of the year.
Turkey missed out on hosting Euro 2024 to Germany so will be hoping that this time around they'll win one of their two bids to host the prestigious event.
