Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold is now 3/1 to sign for Real Madrid this window

The January transfer window is now open and Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is now just 3/1 to sign for Real Madrid this window after links with him moving.

Reports from Mail Sport last week say that Liverpool rejected a £20m bid for Alexander-Arnold from Real Madrid with his contract set to expire in June.

That would allow Los Blancos to sign him on a free in the summer window and former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher said that the bid came in last week on the back of Alexander-Arnold's side.

Bookies give an implied probability of 25% that Real Madrid sign Trent this January window with 4/9 given on a summer transfer for the player.

Alexander-Arnold came under fire for his performance against Man United on Sunday

Super Sunday saw Trent's Liverpool head into the game against fierce rivals Manchester United as the heavy favourites but a spirited United performance saw them grab a draw at Anfield.

All eyes were on Alexander-Arnold with United targeting Liverpool's right-hand side throughout the match and a poor performance from Trent saw United through again and again.

Roy Keane told Sky Sports that a move to Tranmere would be more suited the way he's playing saying: "There's talk about him going to Real Madrid, the way he's defending he's going to Tranmere Rovers after this."

Yesterday's performance suggested that Trent's head has already been turned by Real Madrid and his performances going forward will be interesting to see.

Liverpool still odds-on to win the Premier League title this season

Despite dropping points against Man United on Sunday, Liverpool are still the heavy favourites to win the Premier League title this season.

The current Premier League table puts Liverpool 6 points clear of Arsenal at the top of the league with a game in hand over the Gunners too.

Arsenal are 9/2 to win the league this season in what already looks like a two-horse race with no other real contenders in the market.
