Tasha Ghouri is the 7/2 favourite to win this year's Strictly Come Dancing

Former Love Island contestant Tasha Ghouri goes into this year's Strictly Come Dancing as the favourite with Betting Sites to win the show with bookies already offering odds.

Ghouri was born deaf and is the second deaf contestant to appear on the show after actress Rose Ayling-Ellis, who won Strictly Come Dancing back in 2021.

Tasha rose to fame back in 2022 when she appeared on ITV's hit dating show Love Island and has since gone on to gain more than 2m followers across her social media platforms.

Fans of Strictly will no doubt complain that Ghouri has previous dancing experience with the former Islander starting ballet at the age of three before growing up learning commercial streetstyle dance.

Ghouri reportedly dated professional dancer Giovanni Pernice but he has since left the show after a number of complaints were put forward by Amanda Abbington and other celebrities around his behaviour.

The show must go on though and Bet365's latest betting market has Tasha as the early favourite to win the show, with the latest odds giving her a 22.2% chance of doing so.

What the expert says...
Former Love Island star Tasha Ghouri is straight in as favourite to win this year's Strictly, with bookies focusing on her previous dancing experience as a key reason for her short odds. Layton Williams reach the final with his nimble footwork last year and another star who has danced previously in Tasha will be looking to go one better than that this year!

Eastenders actor Jamie Borthwick is second favourite in the betting market

Eastenders very own Jamie Borthwick is just behind Ghouri in the betting odds to win Strictly with the Jay Mitchell actor starring in the soap ever since 2006.

Jamie has previous experience on Strictly having won the 2023 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special and he will be looking to use that experience to help him win here.

Similar to Tasha, that previous experience instantly led to fans of the show giving 'fix' claims on social media, with talk of an 'unfair advantage' by some of the comments on Strictly's Instagram.
