Harry Kane now 10/1 to win the Sports Personality of the Year award at this year's event

England striker Harry Kane's odds for the Sports Personality of the Year award are slowly getting shorter as the 2022 World Cup gets underway.

Kane's performance against Iran on Monday was impressive despite not scoring a goal with two assists for his country before being subbed off.

That substitution through injury may be a worry for England with scans taking place on his ankle but that's not stopped bookies from putting Kane at 10/1 for the SPOTY award.

Paddy Power make Kane the second favourite for the award but still only give him a 9% chance of winning it according to the odds.

Sports Personality of the Year Winner Odds Probability
Beth Mead 1/10 90.9%
Harry Kane
10/1 9.1%
Ronnie O'Sullivan
18/1 7.7%
Joe Root 25/1 6.7%
Jos Buttler 25/1 6.7%
Harry Kane has now moved to 10/1 in the betting market to win the Sports Personality of the Year award following a strong performance in England's opener at the World Cup vs Iran.

Beth Mead remains heavy favourite to win the award after Lionesses Euros win

England Lionesses star Beth Mead is the 1/10 favourite to win this year's SPOTY award after winning the European Championship in the Summer.

Mead won the Player of the Tournament award and finished as the Top Goalscorer in a Summer that made her a household name across the country.

Unfortunately for the England forward, she is now out for the rest of the season following an ACL injury picked up in Arsenal's 3-2 loss to Man United last week.

Mead now faces a huge race to be fit in time for the World Cup which is set to take place in just 8 months time.

Importantly too, this ACL injury is the latest in a long list of female players who have suffered that specific injury lately calling for more research around prevention.

England Women's forward Beth Mead remains the heavy favourite at 1/10 to win the SPOTY award and that gives her a 90% chance of doing so according to the odds. Unfortunately for Mead an ACL injury sustained last week for her club Arsenal may keep her out of next year's World Cup.
