- Postecoglou now 2/5 favourite to be next Premier League manager sacked
- Forest winless in seven; owner Marinakis to hold talks this week
- Amorim second in the betting at 3/1 after easing pressure with Sunderland win
Postecoglou Odds-On to Leave Nottingham Forest
The pressure is mounting on Ange Postecoglou, who has become the 2/5 odds-on favourite with bookmakers to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job.
Postecoglou’s Nottingham Forest side slumped to a 2-0 defeat at Newcastle on Sunday, extending their winless run to seven games and leaving the club deep in trouble near the bottom of the table.
Sources suggest that owner Evangelos Marinakis is set to hold talks this week to discuss Postecoglou’s future, just a month after the Australian was appointed to replace Nuno Espírito Santo.
BetVictor's latest market now gives an implied probability of 71.4% that Postecoglou is the next manager to depart his role in the Premier League this season.

Postecoglou Under Pressure
Forest’s seven-game winless run has left fans restless and confidence waning.
The team’s lack of goals and defensive frailties have sparked growing calls for change just weeks into Postecoglou’s reign.
A poor run of results has dragged the club into the relegation mix and with key fixtures against Chelsea and Porto on the horizon, the next fortnight could prove decisive for the Australian’s future at the City Ground.
Elsewhere in the market, Daniel Farke (16/1) and Unai Emery (20/1) are much further out.
Farke’s Leeds have steadied slightly after a slow start, while Emery’s Aston Villa continue to hover in mid-table, keeping both managers relatively safe for now.
What the expert says...
Amorim’s Situation Improves
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, who had been as short as 6/5 in the sack race last week, has drifted to 3/1 following a much-needed 2-0 victory over Sunderland on Saturday.
The result eased some pressure on the Portuguese coach, although doubts over United’s long-term direction remain.
United have a massive game next after the international break with a trip to their fierce rivals Liverpool in a fortnight's time.
Amorim and United will look to build momentum to avoid slipping back into contention for the sack race in coming weeks.
