Since becoming favourites to win the 2024 presidential elections back in November, the Republicans are holding on to favouritism with betting sites taking bets on the outcome of the vote.
According to the odds at betting sites, the Democrats held a better than 70% chance back in November 2020, of fielding the next president of the United States and over time that has decreased significantly with the Republicans coming from just 40% at the time to as high as 53% right now.
The crossover point came last October when the two party's were neck and neck in the betting, but since then, bets being placed have been mainly on the republicans off the back of Donald Trump announcing he would possibly stand once again.

Much of the support in the betting for the Republicans has come from the Trump effect, despite the party probably wanting to rid themselves of the spectre.
As The Guardian has reported "Trump handpicked former senator David Perdue and congressman Jody Hice to challenge Kemp and Raffensperger in the Republican primaries. Both parroted the big lie and both were soundly beaten."
Meanwhile, Trump remains a short price at 1.39 and given a 70% chance in the betting for US president in 2024, despite some hints that this may not be the case - What the message is here is anyone's guess
