I've spent over 20 years inside the betting industry. I'll guide you to avoid the hype, ignore the noise, and steer clear of the common pitfalls that catch out everyday punters.

  • Republicans remain 1.89 favourites to win in 2024 according to betting markets
  • Bookmakers made the Republicans favourite in October 2021 and they have stood firm in the position since
  • Despite some protestations, Donald Trump is 70% likely with betting Sites to Stand for election to President in 2024

Since becoming favourites to win the 2024 presidential elections back in November, the Republicans are holding on to favouritism with betting sites taking bets on the outcome of the vote.

According to the odds at betting sites, the Democrats held a better than 70% chance back in November 2020, of fielding the next president of the United States and over time that has decreased significantly with the Republicans coming from just 40% at the time to as high as 53% right now.

The crossover point came last October when the two party's were neck and neck in the betting, but since then, bets being placed have been mainly on the republicans off the back of Donald Trump announcing he would possibly stand once again.

Winning Party Betting Odds History

Party Dec 20 Oct 21 May 2022
Democrats 1.35 2.00 2.10
Republicans 2.50 2.16 1.89

The Republicans have stood firm as the favourites to win the next presidential vote in 2024 since becoming so in October 2021. The gap is even widening in terms of support from punters.

All Despite Trump backed Nominees losing in Georgia

Much of the support in the betting for the Republicans has come from the Trump effect, despite the party probably wanting to rid themselves of the spectre.

As The Guardian has reported "Trump handpicked former senator David Perdue and congressman Jody Hice to challenge Kemp and Raffensperger in the Republican primaries. Both parroted the big lie and both were soundly beaten."

Meanwhile, Trump remains a short price at 1.39 and given a 70% chance in the betting for US president in 2024, despite some hints that this may not be the case - What the message is here is anyone's guess

Trump to Run for President in 2024

Odds Probability
Yes 1.41 70.92%
No 3.20 31.25%

The market for Trump to run for president in 2024 is a fascinating betting heat that will surely take many twists and turns before the end of the year and beyond
