Barry Ferguson shortens into 8/1 to be the next Rangers manager after latest win

Betting odds continue to be offered on the next Rangers manager with interim boss Barry Ferguson now shortening in the latest market with UK Betting Sites.

Ferguson went into last night's game against Fenerbahce telling fans that his side face "heavy defeats" if they play like they did in their 2-1 loss at home to Motherwell last weekend.

The Gers though performed against expectations on Thursday evening though and put in an impressive performance away to Fenerbahce where they ran out 3-1 winners.

Ferguson's tactical nous against managerial legend Jose Mourinho has seen Bet365's market now put him at 8/1 to get the job permanently.

Steven Gerrard remains favourite to return to Ibrox

Steven Gerrard was installed as the early favourite to be the next Rangers boss and has since moved into 15/8 in the market to get the job next.

Gerrard was Rangers boss from 2018 to 2021 where his side won the Scottish Premiership title in the 2020-21 season without losing a single game.

The English manager and former Liverpool player then left the club for Aston Villa in November 2021 but nearly four years on could make a shock return to Ibrox.
