Newcastle are the 5/2 favourites to be Jose Mourinho's next club

Jose Mourinho is now without a club after his sacking by AS Roma at the start of the week and now bookmakers are offering odds on where the Portuguese manager could end up next.

Newcastle are the favourite destination for Mourinho next with the latest betting odds of 5/2 saying that St James' Park will be where we see the giant manager take over.

Mourinho would be a coup for Newcastle but could be the next step they need to take with Eddie Howe's side struggling for form in the Premier League so far this season.

The Portuguese manager has been linked with Newcastle in the past but it's unclear where he will end up next with no concrete rumours about his next club so early after his sacking.

Any Saudi Pro League side is the second favourite in the market ahead of a sensational Chelsea return

Some reports have said that Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli have both made offers to Jose Mourinho in the past 48 hours and Newcastle's shared ownership with some of these Saudi clubs may make it easier for managerial changes 'in-house' so to speak.

Moving to the Saudi League is a big step for any player or manager to take but it could well be where Mourinho is in his career path with a link-up one again with Cristiano Ronaldo always tempting.

It's unclear wether Mourinho will decide to take a big break now after that Roma dismissal or if he will jump straight back into management with the next job that comes up.

Mourinho's 49% win percentage at Roma the worst in his managerial career so far

Mourinho's spell at AS Roma has been the worst in his managerial career when it comes to his win rate, with Roma the first club where that has dipped below the 50% mark.

Stats for his last 5 clubs see the win rate slowly start to come down with his win rate while manager of Real Madrid sitting at a healthy 72%.

This was followed by a 59% rate at Chelsea, 58% at Man United, 51% at Tottenham before his 49% win rate at Roma saw him get the sack.
