  • Greater Lincolnshire’s first ever mayoral election takes place on Thursday, May 1.
  • Andrea Jenkyns (Reform UK) leads the betting at 2/7, ahead of Conservative Rob Waltham (5/2).
  • Seven candidates are standing, with a broad political spectrum from Greens to Lincolnshire Independents.

Andrea Jenkyns Odds-On to Win Historic Greater Lincolnshire Mayoral Vote

This Thursday, voters across Greater Lincolnshire will go to the polls to elect the area’s first ever regional mayor and the betting market suggests a strong likelihood of a Reform UK breakthrough, with Andrea Jenkyns installed as the clear 2/7 favourite with Star Sports.

The former MP for Morley and Outwood, Jenkyns has campaigned on a platform of scrapping 20mph speed limits, opposing so-called “woke” policies and focusing on local services including housing, NHS access and infrastructure.

Jenkyns has leaned into her national Reform profile and is seen by many as a bellwether candidate for the party’s wider electoral ambitions ahead of the general election.

UK Betting Sites put her clear of Conservative candidate Rob Waltham in the latest betting market for the role.

What the expert says...
Andrea Jenkyns leads this market convincingly, and her national profile seems to be resonating in Lincolnshire. But don’t rule out a strong local turnout for Rob Waltham, especially in North Lincolnshire where his record is known.

Who Are the Main Challengers?

Rob Waltham, currently the leader of North Lincolnshire Council and the Conservative candidate, is second in the betting at 5/2.

He’s emphasising economic growth, investment in skills, and transport upgrades, alongside his proven track record of delivering projects in government.

As the official Conservative choice, he could benefit from the party’s local infrastructure though Reform’s national momentum may complicate matters.

Labour’s Jason Stockwood, priced at 10/1, brings a very different background to the table.

A tech entrepreneur and former chairman of Grimsby Town FC, he’s focused on inclusive growth and mental health and could be one to watch.
