Elton John backed into 1/2 to be one of the three Glastonbury headliners next year
Elton John is now 1/2 to headline Glastonbury Festival next year with bookies expecting the superstar singer to be one of the three main headliners.
Incredibly, Elton John has never played Glastonbury and back in 2016 he stated that he'd never been asked.
The singer was evens to headline the festival back in July, so his odds have shortened slightly in the last few months.
Glastonbury 2023 Headliner
|
Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Arctic Monkeys | 1/10 | 90.9% |
Elton John | 1/2 | 66.7% |
Guns n Roses | 4/6 | 60.0% |
Eminem
|
10/11 | 52.4% |
Rihanna | 6/4 | 40.0% |
Harry Styles | 9/4 | 30.8% |
Rihanna is a new entrant in the market after her comeback single was released that week and her Super Bowl Half Time show was confirmed too.
It may well be that a worldwide tour follows and this could mean that a Glastonbury appearance will be on the cards.
Arctic Monkeys remain heavy favourites in the betting market
Arctic Monkeys are now 1/10 to headline next year's Glastonbury following on from yesterday's ticket sales selling out in an hour.
The band announced a massive stadium tour for 2023 a two week's ago and left the Friday and Saturday of Glastonbury free in the schedule.
It's likely that those dates have been left open for a Glastonbury headline slot and bookies now give a 90% chance that that is the case.

Taylor Swift drifts right out to 10/1 after announcing a US tour that has dates during the festival
Taylor Swift was as short as 6/5 in September to headline Glastonbury but has drifted right out to 10/1 after tour dates in the USA were announced last week.
The singer was set to headline Glastonbury in 2020 as part of the massive 50th anniversary of the Festival.
That was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic when the festival came back two years later, Swift's tour had ended.
It looks unlikely that she'll be able to perform at the festival this year, with a 2024 headline slot already being rumoured.
