General Elections Betting: Only 7% chance of General Election in 2022

I've spent over 20 years inside the betting industry. I'll guide you to avoid the hype, ignore the noise, and steer clear of the common pitfalls that catch out everyday punters.

  • Little chance of Conservatives calling a snap Election in the current climate
  • Just a 7% chance of 2022 General Election according to beating sites
  • 2024 or later remain the favourite dates according to bets being placed at 4/6 or 60% probability

It generally takes some exceptional circumstances to see a snap General election take place and if it were to happen in 2022, then something exceptional would have to occur.

In the current climate that can not be ruled out, but is most unlikely if we are to believe what betting sites betting odds on the date of the next general election are anything to go by.

Of all the things bookmakers are predicting for 2022, a general election is not one of them. Boris and the Conservatives could not be particularly confident by calling a snap right now. As a result, there is only given a 7% chance of a GE in 2022, with the favored date by punter being that of a scheduled election in 2024 or later.

We can only speculate on the carnage a snap general election would cause right now, punters and bookmakers are agreeing that it is 60% certain the next general election in the UK will take place as scheduled.
