Dorking v Wingate & Finchley: FA Cup Second Qualifying Round Preview

The FA Cup returns this weekend with a Second Qualifying Round clash as Dorking Wanderers welcome Wingate & Finchley to Meadowbank Stadium on Saturday 13th September.

Both sides are aiming to push on in this year’s competition, but the bookmakers make Dorking heavy favourites given their recent league pedigree and previous head-to-head record.

Dorking and Wingate have met four times in the Isthmian League Premier Division (2018–2019), with Wanderers winning twice and Wingate taking one victory.

The form guide, plus home advantage, has tilted the market heavily in favour of Marc White’s side.

Marc White’s men have been scoring consistently, netting 10 goals in their last six matches and have turned Meadowbank into a stronghold with emphatic wins over Totton and Tonbridge.

Wingate & Finchley enter the tie having endured a mixed start to their Isthmian Premier Division season, with just one win in their last six league fixtures.

Although they edged through in the last FA Cup qualifying round with a 3-2 win over Carshalton, defensive vulnerabilities remain as Wingate have conceded 13 goals across their last 6 league games.

What the expert says...
Dorking could be too strong here. Wingate will battle hard, but the difference in leagues is reflected in the 3/10 price. The boost on Half Time/Full Time sees odds strengthen too!
