The 75th Annual Tony Awards are held on June 12, to recognize achievement in Broadway. The ceremony will be held at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and will be hosted by Ariana DeBose and among the favourites to win one of these sought after awards is Enfield's own, Sharon D Clarke whom many people in the UK will know better as Lola Griffin in the medical drama Holby City but who also appeared in Dr Who.
Nominated for Best Actress in a Musical category, she is currently the favorite to pick up the award according to betting sites thanks to her performance in 'Caroline, or Change' - In many ways, Sharon has been a large part of the revival of this musical, from a revival of the original Broadway production in a small theatre in Chichester in 2017, the show made it back to Broadway to critical acclaim featuring Sharon in the lead role.
