What the expert says...
The Pogues had moved into favourites earlier this month after the passing of Shane MacGowan
Shane MacGowan's sad passing earlier this month had seen The Pogues odds for Christmas Number One slashed down to just 1/6 for the top spot.
Those odds gave an 85% chance that The Pogues got Number One for their festive classic 'Fairytale of New York' but their odds have since drifted.
Creator Universe's run for the Number One spot now sees The Pogues drift right out to 5/4 to get the Christmas top spot with a 44% chance they do so now.

Christmas Number One Betting Odds: The Pogues odds now SLASHED into 1/6 for this year's Christmas Number One following the death of frontman Shane MacGowan
