Mo Gilligan is the 5/2 favourite to replace David Walliams as a new judge on Britain's Got Talent
Comedian Mo Gilligan has been tipped to take over from David Walliams as the new judge on Britain's Got Talent according to bookies.
The latest betting odds see Gilligan as the 5/2 favourite to replace the departing Walliams as a judge on the popular talent show on ITV.
Gilligan is already a big character on ITV starring as a panellist on The Masked Singer and the channel may want to keep their next judge in-house.
According to the latest betting odds from Betway, Gilligan sits just above Love Island voiceover star Iain Stirling in the betting market as favourite to be next permanent judge.
Britain's Got Talent - Next Permanent Judge | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Mo Gilligan | 5/2 | 28.6% |
Iain Stirling | 4/1 | 20.0% |
Joel Dommett | 9/2 | 18.2% |
Joe Lycett | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Stephen Mulhern | 14/1 | 6.7% |
Joel Dommett currently presents The Masked Singer and Masked Dancer so similar to Gilligan would see a familiar face on ITV joining the judging panel.
Mo Gilligan is the outright favourite at 5/2 to be the next Britain's Got Talent judge with David Walliams set to leave. Gilligan's current role as a panellist on The Masked Singer may make ITV producers turn to him to replace the outgoing Walliams.

Walliams set to step down from role as judge on BGT after making foul-mouthed comments about contestants
Recent reports suggested that David Walliams will step down as a judge on Britain's Got Talent after 'disrespectful comments' about contestants on the show.
The Guardian say that despite rumours of Walliams leaving the show, a BGT spokesperson said that no decision has been made on him being involved.
If Walliams was to leave the show this year then it would end a decade long stint as a judge on the biggest talent show on UK television.
ITV's statement on the matter said, “We do not condone the language outlined in these allegations, and we have spoken to the producers of Britain’s Got Talent."
When is Britain's Got Talent 2023 set to air?
The 2023 series of Britain's Got Talent has no official start date but judging by previous years of the show we will likely see it start in April.
Last year's series began on April 16th and we'll likely see a similar weekend in April kicking off next year's show.
Simon Cowell and BGT reportedly signed a deal at the beginning of the year to stay on ITV until at least 2025 and the talent show has shown no signs of stopping.
