I break betting odds news as it happens, so you’re never left behind when the market moves or a top offer lands.

  • Liverpool 4/5 favourite to sign Alexander Isak before the summer window closes.
  • Newcastle holding out for £150m, making a deal difficult.
  • Staying at Newcastle priced at 10/11 with Saudi Arabian teams a distant 20/1.

Liverpool Interest Drives Market

UK betting sites have shortened Liverpool’s odds to 4/5 to sign Alexander Isak this summer, with reports suggesting Arne Slot’s side could push harder after Sunday’s Community Shield defeat to Crystal Palace.

The Reds were beaten on penalties at Wembley and could be in the market for more attacking firepower before the transfer window closes.

Isak, 25, has been on Liverpool’s radar all summer, but Newcastle’s £150m valuation remains a huge stumbling block.

Bet365's latest odds give an implied probability of 55.6% that Isak signs for the Reds in the final weeks of the window.

What the expert says...
The betting shows Liverpool as favourites, but the reality is Newcastle’s £150m valuation makes a deal extremely tough in the time left. This market reflects more the transfer rumour cycle than any firm movement and punters should factor in the high probability of him staying put, especially given Newcastle’s ambitions and financial position.

Liverpool the Narrow Favourite

Despite the financial gap between Liverpool’s likely bid and Newcastle’s asking price, bookmakers still have the Reds as marginal favourites in the market.

A move would add another proven Premier League goalscorer to Slot’s squad despite signing Hugo Ekitike this summer, but Isak could be viewed as both short and long-term investment.

Liverpool have already spent massive amounts this summer, including signing Florian Wirtz for more than £100m, but the sale of Darwin Nunez could put more money into their transfer kitty.

Staying Put a Real Possibility

At 10/11, Isak remaining at Newcastle is almost as short as a Liverpool move in the market.

The Magpies are under no pressure to sell and would need a record-breaking offer to even consider parting with the Swedish striker this month.

Newcastle fans will be hoping the club’s stance holds firm as they prepare for another season in the Champions League.

“Any Saudi Arabian team” is a long-shot option at 20/1, reflecting both the player’s age and preference to remain in European football.

The best football betting sites continue to offer odds on this market and other potential transfers going into the final weeks of the window.
