Ted Lasso now odds-on favourite to win the Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy this year

Ted Lasso is now just 5/6 to win the Outstanding Comedy Series award at this year's Emmy Awards after the full list of nominations were revealed earlier this month.

Bookies have a full betting market around which Comedy will win the award later this year and it's the Apple TV hit Ted Lasso that is the main favourite.

The betting odds have Ted Lasso favourite ahead of The Bear which is a newcomer in the nominations for the award but bookies make that series 6/4 to win.

Ted Lasso's chances of winning a third consecutive Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy currently sits at 54% according to the latest odds.

Emmy Award Outstanding Comedy Series Odds Probability
Ted Lasso 5/6 54.5%
The Bear 6/4 40.0%
Abbott Elementary 7/2 22.2%
Barry 10/1 9.1%
The Marvelous Mrs Maisel 16/1 5.9%

Succession is the big favourite to win Best Drama at the 2023 Emmy Awards

Succession is the favourite in the betting market for Best Drama with the latest odds having the series at 1/4 to win one of the biggest awards of the night.

In what has been a massive year for TV it's always been predicted that it'll be a head-to-head between Succession and The Last of Us and those two are at the top of the betting market.

The White Lotus will be the other competitor for the award according to the betting market as it makes the jump from limited series to drama series at the 2023 Emmys.

Best Drama Series Emmy Odds Probability
Succession 1/4 80.0%
The Last of Us
6/1 14.3%
The White Lotus 7/1 12.5%
Better Call Saul 8/1 11.1%

When do the 2023 Emmys take place?

The 2023 Emmy Awards will take place on September 18, 2023, but no location yet has been set for the prestigious awards show.

The Daytime Emmys were postponed earlier this month from their planned date of June 16 due to the ongoing writers strike.

It may well be that we see this year's Emmys be cancelled with the Writers Guilds of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild (SAG) strikes showing no sign of stopping.
