Is it worth having more than 1 bet in a race or an event? This was the question asked and lively debate ensued on the OLBG Forum ahead of a big week of sport.
DaveTehTipst0r posted "Obviously if you back more than one you are guaranteed a loser but backing two or more can often pay dividend."
jennywales replied I have been known to back place only in these circumstances - you kick yourself if it wins, but on the other hand you save the win stake!

OLBG are once again proudly sponsoring the OLBG Mares' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival 2016. Our race is on Tuesday at 4.10. It has been made famous recently by the exploits of Quevega and Annie Power and received another tremendous boost with the news that the BHA increased its status to Grade One in 2015.
The OLBG Mares Road to Cheltenham 2016, which includes races at Wetherby, Kempton, Ascot, Warwick and Doncaster, have highlighted some top mares like Lily Waugh, Blue Buttons, Flute Bowl, Morello Royale and of course Mullins-trained Vroom Vroom Mag, who now looks a strong contender in the OLBG Mares' Hurdle on Tuesday.
Glens Melody
Many OLBG members will be at the Festival to see which horse can follow Glens Melody as the winner of the OLBG Mares Hurdle. We hope all have a great day.

Cricket

Currently top of the Twenty20 World Cup Cricket Tipping Competition is OLBG member Louthy, thanks in part to his tip on Mohammad Shahzad to be Man Of The Match in the Afghanistan vs Scotland game. It is early days though and with the tournament not finishing until April there is plenty of time for other tipsters who know their cricket to catch him.

Eurovision

Many tipsters love the Eurovision Song Contest and there are 23 pages of discussion on the forum with many betting on the event. Systemsman is among many who study the event looking for the best Song For Europe or at least which country will receive the most votes. If ESC if for you please post your opinion.

Football

What a tip last week from Angelov on the B.Munich v Mainz clash -(Mainz to win & BTTS) @ 33/1
“Bayern have problems at the back and Kimmich will play again as a central defender. In their last home match Darmstadt managed to take the lead but they couldn't hold it till the end. Mainz are enjoying a nice run of form at the moment and they have 4 wins in their last 5 matches. At these odds I will predict the guests convert their chances after counter attacks.”
The Champions League Challenge is back this week with £20 on offer. Don’t miss out on the chance of more free cash.

Horse Racing

The big race on Saturday is The Imperial Cup and Spurs1967 has tipped Affaire D’Honneur @ 6/1.
"AFFAIRE D'HONNEUR is a class act. Scheduled for a Grade 1 at The Festival but instead re-routed for this prestigious pre-Cheltenham appetizer. Prepared to come to the boil for this time in the season, this lightly raced five year old gelding belonging to Harry Whittington is now more than ready to deliver. Should be raced prominently, unlike in the Betfair Hurdle when he missed the starters call, covering a huge amount of ground late on when the prize was gone. "
Take a look at the OLBG Naps Table and you can see whose naps have been performing well this month.

Tennis

Can you help? It was asked Is Tennis worth betting seriously ? i am not sure we have got to this bottom of this discussion, can all OLBG tennis tipsters help on this discussion?

Rugby

Rjholland has tipped and taken a view on England’s Six Nations decider with Wales, he favours Eddie Jones men in the margin market.
"England by 1-12 Winning Margin 5-Way 100 Win William Hill @ 6/4 Back It!

England Rugby "Both England and Wales have named unchanged sides for their clash at Twickenham. I expect this to be a very close game again. I had the handicap line at about 2/3 so the bookies’ line of 5 makes Wales look like the right play, but instead I’ll back England on the alternative winning margin. The last 3 games between these two sides have all been close with Wales winning at the World Cup 28-25, England winning the last 6N game in Cardiff 21-16 and the English winning the 6N game here at Twickenham 29-18 in 2014. They look evenly matched again and I’m struggling to really pick out where the sides can get one over each other. The scrums have been the hot talking point so how Joubert refs them will be important. England and Wales are the two form sides coming into this game, both unbeaten with one draw for Wales in Dublin. Home field advantage often tells in these games and I think that’ll be the case again here."
