The features fourteen teams, with each team playing fifty-two games in the regular season in a double round robin format.
The top six teams go straight to the quarter finals of the playoffs, with the remaining two slots going to two of the four teams in 7th to 10th who compete for those places.
The two teams at the bottom play in a one-off play-out game, which will decide which one remains in the league and which one is relegated to the HockeyAllsvenskan to be replaced by the winner of that league's playoff.
