The 6-year-old seems in good shape. Two recent runs over this 8.5f C/D, beaten around 2L in both races, but he mostly faced rivals rated 60??'70 in those races. No rival rated above 54 in this handicap, and he’s on a handy mark now.

Captain Pickles is added to the main value selection: Take The A Train. Captain Pickles is more obviously a previous course-and-distance winner. So the question is: can Captain Pickles defy the 3 lb handicap rise? Classified Stakes form is often ignored, but that means we are getting a bigger price than expected for an in-form horse.

Back in handicaps tonight after running well in its last three classified races. I don't think this will be a problem in this company of horses. This previous C/D winner should give Snper the jockey a quick double win.

Brinton looks a solid each-way type here. He has a strong course-and-distance profile and has already won in this grade. The main pluses for me are consistency at this level with the C&D form. Cheekpieces have helped before, with a 21% strike rate when used, and Rob Hornby is a good booking here.

Wyvern last won in Dec off a 55, and three weeks ago showed improvement when third of five off a 55. He has Ryan Kavanagh in the saddle this time off a 54 and claiming 5 lbs, which I think makes him worth an each-way (EW) bet.

Recent second at Newcastle reads well, although it was only a five-runner race. That was the first sign of improvement and the first time placed on the all-weather. It was also the first time back at one mile since the novice campaign. That would indicate today's trip is ideal, and as a 4yo, Take The A Train is open to further improvement.

Is a huge outsider, but if he finds his best form with the favourites off, he can produce another upset here.

I'm an outsider here, but maybe the potential of the horse has not yet been shown, so I will look to at least place here.
