Yummy had not shown much in a bumper or three hurdle races to get a handicap mark and disappointed in his first handicap hurdle at Doncaster. Held up, he was hampered when the favourite unseated early on. Then he made a mistake at the 2nd last and found little when asked for his effort, finishing in fourth place. Dropped two pounds to a mark of 80, more is expected of him by both Dan and Harry Skelton.

Farmer Jimmy, 6yo, had been steadily progressive bar the two runs in December and January. His last effort was a much better showing than those two, when getting outpaced yet staying on again well over 2m4f at a sharp track. Same rider, who does well for this yard, is on board again and claims 7 lb. The course winner has gone close here twice over 3m on good and soft ground, so is well placed by connections off a career-low mark. The concern is Yummy from the Skelton yard, who has not shown enough to warrant the short price but could prove a different horse if stepped markedly up in trip. At around 8/1, it makes Farmer Jimmy a bit of an each-way steal, as a clear round should see him make the frame at least.

Has the strongest recent figures in the race and a progressive profile despite carrying top weight. Gave the useful now 120 rated Silver Hill a good battle on hurdle debut.

Rapid Mission hasn't shown much form yet but could improve with the step up in distance, which should suit. It also has strong market confidence.

REBEL INTENTIONS blows either hot or cold, so at this price is probably worth a punt just in case we catch a going day. Last seen on firmer ground when finishing runner-up at Catterick on New Year's Day. That came from a pound higher in the weights with today's jockey on board. So there are a few boxes ticked, but we have to accept we could just get another disappointment.
