Harriet Dicken's 6yo improved on his hurdles form when making his chase debut at Worcester 35 days ago. He's bred to be a staying chaser and has only gone up 2 lb for that win.

Kept on well when runner-up over 3 miles here last time out. The drop in trip will suit and he will come on for that latest run which was following a 193 day break.

A Belinda Clarke trained 8-year-old who has had 6 races over the chases, winning once and has finished 3rd twice. His win came at Chepstow in March in a class 5 handicap chase over 2m 3 1/2f on good going, ridden by today's jockey Lee Edwards, when leading over the final fence to win by 2 1/2 lengths. He is back in a class 5 handicap chase over 2m 4f on good going. This gelding has been off track for 167 days. He is racing off a fairly low weight and is a winner over this distance on similar going in the same grade of race. Has a good e/w shout in this race today.

Flash In The Park is the only CD winner in the lineup and fell in his other race here. He has a very mixed profile this year, but the trainers have a very good record here at Uttoxeter and have a 25% SR this current season (20% over 5 years). Flash In The Park is gradually dropping in weights and is 2 lbs lower than his last race and is 9 lbs lower than his win here. Change of jockey to Robert Dunne, and he has a good working partnership with the trainers, having been in the frame in 25 of his 39 rides over 5 years.

Experienced, with five wins over hurdles and in chases. First run since April, so could be a bit rusty, but an interesting look with five places here.

Bravethewaves did win off this mark back in February. Last term, it took four runs to get up to speed after a long break, so could be ready to go again, now third up. EW 5P.

Finished a good 2nd of 16 on 20th January in a Class 5 hurdle over 2m 3f. Rating went up to 96 from 92 as a result and has had three further runs since, all in hurdle races, the last being a refreshing 200 days ago. Switched to chasing today but is only a 6-year-old, so maybe still learning with rating 92 and new jockey on board, Lily Pinchin. Was tried over 2m 7f 198yds two runs ago, so should get today's 2m 4f.

Makes her chase debut. With the handicapper kindly dropping her 4lbs for the last run. She's running off a mark of just 91 here. Stepping up in trip. With the first time tongue tie going on alongside the hood she usually wears. Her best run over hurdles come at Haydock. She finished 3rd behind Soleil d'Arizona. Beaten just 7L by the winner. No disgrace there behind a progressive horse. The switch to the larger obstacles ought to bring out some improvement in her. She had 2 P2P runs. Winning one of those. And finishing 2nd in the other run behind Air Of Entitlement. The aforementioned went on to win the Mares Novices Hurdle race at the Cheltenham festival last term. This race is super weak. This mark is very lenient. I suspect she will leave this mark well behind at some point, if not this time.
