3:00 Sandown Tips

Dangerman is up thirteen pounds for two consecutive comfortable wins over course and distance. That was after finishing last of 12 over 12f at Newbury in his previous race. He either responded very favorably to first-time blinkers or took a liking to right-handed Sandown. There could be further improvement from the three-year-old upped in class against mainly older horses from bottom weight.

Unexposed for these conditions but also proven. The Haggas and Morquand duo at Sandown is formidable. Should run a big race in this and take advantage of the soft going to get up. 11/2 is way too big even in this big field. the horse is still also in form which helps claims even more.

Brioni won twice last year and won over C&D. Good this June in first-time cheekpieces. Didn't have the best luck in top York handicap 7 weeks ago but has every chance in this race.

The ground looks almost certain to ride on the soft side at Sandown following a fair bit of rain on Friday. Obviously, that means the form could be turned on its head after the long dry spell. Alpha Crucis is one that will definitely appreciate easy ground given he's won on heavy. Gary Moore likes his Sandown winners, and Alpha Crucis looks a fair each-way price.

Grey Cuban loves Chester, but this race is not there! Grey Cuban also likes softish ground, and the forecast is just that at Sandown. He is on a high mark now, which accounts for the price on offer, but Hugo Palmer has his lot going well, and the soft ground and Oisin could make a difference.

Jeff Koons has run well previously here at Sandown. Has a fairly consistent record and looks a decent each-way bet at attractive odds.

Savvy Victory is a 6-year-old gelding trained by S Woods and ridden by Colin Keane. He is a four-time winner, all coming over today's 1m 2f, including a CD win in a Listed race, winning by a comfortable 2.25 lengths from the talented 111-rated Poker Face. He handles soft ground, having won at Pontefract and he's been kindly dropped down to a winnable mark today on 102 by the kind handicapper, with his last win coming in a class 2 handicap at Newcastle off 104. Savvy Victory hasn't been in the greatest form of late but showed signs of an imminent revival on his last start, finishing 8/18 at the Goodwood festival, beaten 6 lengths in the Coral Chesterfield Cup. 'Held up in midfield, steady headway over 2f out, no extra inside final 110 yards' under Sean Levey, and is definitely one to consider.

Flying Frontier makes plenty of appeal: he's two from two over this exact course and distance, winning this race last year and again at the Eclipse meeting in July. He returns fresh with just a 1lb higher mark than for that latest success, with Clifford Lee booked for James Tate and a pace set-up that should let him settle and produce his late change of gear up the hill.

Three of five career wins have come on ground with some cut in the surface. Decent effort at Yarmouth last time out when three and three-quarters of a length back in fourth. Eased a pound in the weights since and looks a massive price for each-way purposes with many bookies paying out on extra places.

TAKE HEART was a winner from a 3lb higher mark last summer and is clearly effective turning right-handed. He has not been with David Menuisier lond just his second start for this new yard today and this rain-softened ground will suit. Market check with this shrewd yard among the recent winners.

Haven't backed one at this price for a while, but I just think it's a touch early to rule out FLIGHT LEADER so readily. Ran well on stable debut at Chester from five pounds higher in the weights and followed that up with two disappointments that I'm prepared to chalk off. One was in a tougher-looking race than this at Royal Ascot, and the other was at Chelmsford, which can be a graveyard for some. Showed plenty of promise previously in France and might just be taking time to come good.
