I tipped up the Queen last run last week, and I was very annoyed that the stable second choice came and won after being backed well on course. That is highly frustrating when that occurs. Tonight she may well make amends and is still on a mark of 61. (Last won off 62.)

Wen Moon could give the Haslam/Mullen combination a double on this card. He has rated much higher in the past, and this modest race should be well within his grasp. He showed fair form last time, suggesting his turn is coming. He is much better with cut in the ground, but even if the rain doesn't arrive he should have enough class to triumph here.

Trainer Paul Midgley has a phenomenal record in this handicap, having won it in 2021, 2022, and 2024. Rock Of England is down to a mark of 67, dropping into Class 5. He was a highly respectable third at Pontefract in April off this exact mark. The return of jockey Jason Hart ??' who partnered him to a victory at Newcastle earlier this spring ??' is a big plus. Looks big value at 5/1.

Yet to really trouble the judge since a close second at Bath, but has dropped to a tempting mark and is down in class. A revival might be on the cards.

Course-and-distance winner here. Entitled to need this year's comeback run after four months off. Although she didn't win last year, she was placed here off 15 lbs higher than today. She won three times in 2024, ending the year on 78. Goes today off only 59, with the claimer taking off another 5. Outstanding chance.

Hurt You Never is a 7-year-old trained by Adrian Nicholls, ridden by Jack Nicholls. Has raced over C&D three times, finishing 3rd/5th/1st, the 3rd being the most recent (last month). That was off a mark of 71. Races today 4 lb lower. Each way.

Not too many miles on the clock for the 5yo, who should be sharper after two return runs. He took a couple of runs last year to get going, then produced a win and three narrow defeats. He was 2nd of 14 on his final start last year in a useful Class 4 handicap. This Class 5 contest looks average. He's on a handy mark now and has a good jockey booking.
