This five-year-old gelding was in highly consistent form on the all-weather during the spring, sandwiching a win at Kempton between two close runner-up finishes. He has been handed stall 2, allowing Connor Beasley to easily secure the inside rail. Having shown turf capability in the past, he is perfectly positioned to dictate. At the odds, definitely worth chancing to take this.

Worth taking each-way. Won on the all-weather at Southwell in April in a race that has worked out exceptionally well. Turf form from 2024 indicates he has the baseline ability to outclass his current mark.

Four-time course-and-distance winner who is starting to look extremely well handicapped on his current mark of 65. Although his recent form on the flat looks disappointing, those runs came on tracks that did not play to his strengths. The return to Ripon is a massive positive signal, as is the booking of stable jockey David Allan. Drawn ideally in stall 11, he can track the pace against the stands' rail and use his course experience to handle the late undulations. Definite E/W value.

Trainer Paul Midgley has a phenomenal record in this handicap, having won it in 2021, 2022, and 2024. Rock Of England is down to a mark of 67, dropping into Class 5. He was a highly respectable third at Pontefract in April off this exact mark. The return of jockey Jason Hart ??' who partnered him to a victory at Newcastle earlier this spring ??' is a big plus. Looks big value at 5/1.

Chancing each-way. Unexposed; showed promise when finishing second in a Beverley maiden over seven and a half furlongs on her latest outing. She enters handicap company for the first time off an unexposed mark of 60, with Callum Rodriguez booked to ride. The low draw is a huge plus and she can take advantage to make the frame.
