While the run at the end of last month was only a distant eighth, that was when stepping up to 3m4f. I think the return to 2m4f today under Harry Cobden could bring him back in.

Tommy's Oscar might be getting on now at 11 years old but is still winning. He was in a C2 last month off a 139. The next run was a distant fourth, but that was in a G2. He could bounce back in this return to C2 off a 144 EW.

The market is severely punishing him for two poor recent outings, completely ignoring his sheer back-class. He is a wide-margin past winner at this track and his optimum speed and class figures absolutely dwarf what his rivals are capable of producing. The stable's decision to reach for a brand-new type of headgear today is a glaring signal of intent to snap him out of his lethargy. At these inflated odds, his underlying mathematical superiority makes him a mandatory play.
