Jockey and trainer could book end the card here and have chances as this one caught the eye on handicap debut last time when a staying on third at Haydock off a lumpy weight. Nudged up just a 1lb no hardship and extra distance will suit as stayed on well the last day. Plenty look harshly treated or bang out of form so this looks a nailed on EW play here off a fair mark.

Winner over this trip at York in June. Found life tougher since but has slipped to just 1lb above that last winning mark now so would be no surprise to see him run very well.

Won nicely at Sandown last time and can progress again given similar conditions. The extra furlong can bring on more improvement, and the jockey and trainer are in excellent form.

Shamrock Bay has a win and three seconds in his last five races. The win came at one mile, so slightly further this time. Will go each way.

Preference here goes to the George Margarson runner, Mythical Guest. Previous course winner that arrives in form after posting a trio of good runs on varying ground between 1m-1m1f. Generally consistent, with the majority of his best form coming at this course. Posted a solid effort here in April when third behind the now 105-rated, Bullet Point. That was over the Rowley Mile. He had around 13lb to find on level terms, so off his current mark of 83, he certainly looks well capable. Acts on any ground and he's only 1 of 2 course winners in the field.

Last time out Hugo Palmer's King Casper, in a much better race than this took keen hold at the rear of the field before fading about two furlongs out. Today dropping in class he should go a lot closer. There has already been a bit of support at 14/1 for him in the morning markets.

Made some good headway from a rear position Lto, coming 5/16 beaten 5.5 lengths in a similar class handicap over 1.1 miles @ Goodwood Festival. Goes off same mark here, ran well here @ Newmarket on prior run in same grade and very good jockey/trainer combination makes current 8.50 very good Ew value in the race.

There are signs now that the trainer is coming out of his lean spell, and he is going to have some well-handicapped horses on his hands now. This unusual trip of 9 furlongs could well be ideal for this horse on his crucial fast ground. There are several form lines which give him a major chance here, none more so than the short head 2nd to Arabian Force in April (level weights), and that horse has since gone down by just a length in a Group 2. So, Hymnbook's mark of 88 here should be a competitive one.

Thunder Wonder has been off the boil the last few races, but they've been fiercely competitive class twos. This represents, as well as a drop in grade, a significant drop in the quality of opposition. Now drops below last winning mark and just strikes me as the type to bounce back soon.

Not enough at this distance, but has won over a mile. Has been running in better company and was keeping on over a mile previously when in second place.

Mr. Baloo was a good third when last here in May in a C3 off a 92. Although at the back of the pack last time out when second up after a short break, that was on soft ground. I think the return here off a 91 on Good could see him back in the money each way 4P.

The trainer has got two entered in this race as they are stepping this back up in trip slightly with the same jockey on board. Worth a small each-way saver bet for the four places available.
