7:00 Kempton Tips

A big run from the 4yo at Newcastle last time out, beaten under a length in a useful £18K handicap. His three previous runs over this 8f C/D have resulted in wins, including a much stronger contest than this handicap two starts back. Only 3 lb higher from that C/D win, a good low draw and a strong jockey booking. Looks a nice bet in this £4K handicap.

This looks an excellent each-way bet to me. The horse won a maiden here for Billy Loughnane two starts ago and was disappointing for Sean Levey over the same C&D last time out. Kempton is the AW track that Levey most struggles at, though, and Billy has a strike rate that's literally twice as good as his here at Kempton, so I think he can guide him to another win here. A line through the second in that maiden race would suggest she's very well treated here.

A bit below form of late but now down below his last winning mark. This looks like a competitive race, but this course-and-distance winner is capable at this level, with Paddy Bradley taking the ride. Worth chancing each way at current odds that he can bounce back to form.

A weak-looking mile handicap where Valentine Boy appeals at a generous-looking 14/1. He won his last race well here and can defy a 3 lb rise. A little break will have him fresh.

After a couple of races where he tailed off, he showed a bit more encouragement last time at Wolverhampton, finishing sixth in a race that didn't suit his pace. Dismissing the eight-year-old would be a mistake, since he made a notable return here in January with a win. While not solid, the four places on offer, paired with the big odds, steer me to a speculative each-way wager.
