Montassib won a Listed race over course and distance in March 2024 but has been running in Group races ever since, with wins in a Group 3 and a Group 1 race later in 2024. He has only had two races this year: 3rd of 11 at Group 3 and last time 7th of 19 at Group 1, where he ran best of the low drawn horses at Ascot.

The 7yo ran his best race of the year five weeks ago, after getting some soft ground, beaten just a short head in a Group 3 and he met plenty of trouble in running. Proven on heavy ground. Every chance in this Listed contest.

Raced on the back of a strong record in France to win at Chantilly, comfortably by over four furlongs. Now two pounds heavier than the last run at Curragh when 3rd of eleven after just over a month break. Raced here back in March a pound heavier than the current mark and should be bang on for this.

Miss Nightfall has showed promise this season, and I wonder if dropping her to 6 furlongs will bring out a little more. There should be plenty of pace on, which will make it easier to make her presence felt late on.

Balmoral Lady won a listed race at Haydock earlier in the season. Finished 2nd in this race last season and can reward each way support in this race.

Circe (IRE) is a 4-year-old filly by Kodiac out of Northeast Moon, trained by R. Hannon and set to be ridden by Joe Leavy. She’s been finding her feet this season and ran a solid race last time out when finishing 4th of 13 over 6f at Newmarket, beaten about 5 lengths. The step up to a big 6f Listed sprint at Doncaster gives her a chance to show more, especially if the ground is soft and her pace comes into play. With Leavy in the saddle and the conditions seemingly in her favour, Circe looks a fair each-way shout in what looks a competitive race. Id usually say high drawn numbers are favoured but she ran a cracker here lto drawn (3) so she might give a good account this time
