Jonquil might be from Lope De Vega, but I can only see him being competitive here. His run in the French was quite remarkable, as he was in that front pack of horses which went like bullets at the start. This horse managed to finish 2nd, almost beating a top class miler. The rest of that pack became tired quickly and dropped back. So this horse definetly stays, and itlooked like he has some good speed as well.

Naqeeb has been running some respectable races this season. On reappearance he was a little tired late on, and he's last run was very solid but the track might have not suited. Conditions will be perfect here as they'll go hard which suites his staying abilities. It's tough to win with this horse but he has a strong each-way chance.

Falakeyah has been supplemented for this, and I like that she's coming back to a mile. Many thought she was an Oaks contender after her impressive performance at Newmarket, but the trainer already had his doubts that day with what he wanted to do. Coming back to the mile is something he mentioned, and I like that the owners have trusted their trainer to place this runner. The French runner is held in high regard, but the ground can't be to her liking, while the others lack class.

Zgharta has been improving with every run, but still shows signs of greenness. I don't think she really liked Newmarket, and a track like Ascot could only see her improve. A rating of 88 seems fair.

Realign is a horse which would always improve with age, as most horses from Haggas. He probably beat nothing at Salisbury, but he did it nicely and a mark of 93 can't be correct for a horse which wins in such manner. The draw could be a concerning as they came to the stands side on Thursday.

Zayer missed the break at York, but still managed to run a respectable race. The form from that race has worked out well. The fast ground and headgear could make the difference for this runner for connections who won this race 2 years ago.
