Cleod'or has been running well since being stepped back up in trip. He finished a close second at Marseille when the jockey was forced to make his challenge quite far off the bend, losing him costly ground. He was drawn widest at Lyon latest which didn't help his chances. He was too far back but was able to finish a respectable 5th regardless. He's drawn in stall 2 here and Soumillon is booked this time, both positives.

Maltese Cross finished a good second in the Derby on ground which wasn't to his liking. He seems to enjoy a stamina test though, which I expect this race to be despite the small field as the three other foreign raiders all seem to like racing near the pace. This horse has been improving with every run, so I'm expecting an even better performance here.
