Express Surprise won consecutive three-mile handicap chases off marks of 96 and 101 before finishing 4th off 107 in a marathon chase at Windsor last time. Back at three miles off 105, he should have every chance.

Two-time winner Check The Score looks interesting here as he defends his unbeaten record over fences. He won a bumper on debut at Warwick in April 2023, and though unplaced in three hurdles, he won comfortably on his chase debut at Market Rasen in February 2025. He was not seen again for 12 months before returning over hurdles at Southwell last month when second. He returns to fences off a 9 lb higher mark but looks likely to go well and is a good each-way bet with four places on offer.

Set a difficult task last time out when up in grade, on heavy ground, over a trip too far. It was no surprise that Ithaka pulled up at Exeter. The task today looks altogether more suitable. Decent each-way chance.

Fuji Flight has tumbled down the weights and returned from a layoff three starts ago at Huntingdon on good ground, doing enough to show his well-being. The penultimate start was over a marathon 3m6f at Exeter, and he showed up well for a very long way until tiring late on. He made a bad mistake at the first last time out and was never put into it after that. Blinkers go on for the first time to help prevent the tendency to jump left. Returning to a left-handed galloping track today is another positive after the last three at right-handed courses. He deserves another chance off this mark. 20/1 or bigger makes the odds worth the gamble that he returns to near his best, which would be good enough to win.
